I'd recommend Autechre, but I'm warning you, it may be a bit unconventional at times. Very hypnotic though, sometimes a bit scary, but always very interesting.

If that music is a bit too abstract for you (as it is very hard to be more abstract than Autechre), Stress Assassin would probably do the trick.

I'd recommend S.E.T.I. - Pharos, va - Ambient Systems parts 2 & 3 and Sounds Of Belovodye if you'll find it.

D.pod for me are a strange act one minute they will come out with a track like "Ambientation" which is a wonderfull inspirational full sounding piece of ambient electronica with dub dynamics then next thing I know I'm buying chill out comps because they have Dpod tracks on them and I'm just dissapointed because the other side of what they do is just very minimal and to be honest a little bit samey and boring.

It all depends on ones head space on what can be classified as hypnotic.

I find these do the trick:

Steve reich - music for 18 musicians [ECM]

Tangerine Dream -phaedra

Thomas Kroner -zyklop cd [mille plateaux]
