I have decided that my synth (cs6x...not even synth) is garbage and I need quality.

I'm looking at the nord lead 3 or the virus c... which one of them would be better for airy trance like Dumonde for example?
what are the differences?

Have you considered the Virus TI (total integration) instead of the C? Just a suggestion.

As for the comparison between the NL3 and the Virus, I think it is mainly a taste thing. Check them out and see which one you prefer.

U are so wrong dude!
Although CS6x is a ROMpler, it's an amazing synth with phrase sampler (what's very funny), excellent pads/strings and two slots for the PLG plug-ins cards. I have already had a CS6x with 2 PLG150-AN (AN1x plug-in card) and I love it. I have several synths such as Supernova II, Waldorf XT, Virus B, Korg Wavestation SR etc. and I say: CS6x rocks! The Manuel Schleis trance soundset for CS6x+PLG150-AN is awesome! I love the PLG150-AN, phrase sampler and arpeggios from
CS6x. VA is amazing for trance, of course, but the CS6x/Motif are very suitable to trance as well.

Do you wish good hardware synths?
1.VAs: Virus/JP80x0/Supernova/Micro-Q/Nord Lead 2 - they are used and abused for creating pads/strings/leads in trance (euro and psy).
2. Something different: Waldorf XT/Korg Wavestation/Ensoniq Fizmo (they can create amazing and complex ambient textures, pads and strings very weird and incredible, but not warm and fat, except XT - it can be very FAT and WARM). Z1/Prophecy make beautiful sounds as well - these synths have physical models, including analog models, and are suitable for creating a lot of sounds (they are a dream for sound design - lot of modulation capabilities).
3. ROMpler: CS6x, of course, Motif, Karma and Triton. Except CS6x, they are workstations. Sampler, Sequencer, ROM expansion and so on.
For Dumonde stuff, run to Virus C. In my opinion, Virus C is the better VA in the market. Nord Lead 3 is beautiful and amazing, sounds awesome, but Virus C is better than NL3 (NL3 doesn't have built-in effects and Virus has, and the matrix modulation for Virus C is very powerful).

Well then I guess what I meant to say lol is that i'm looking for a main lead synth, and I bought something that is not really a synth...

TI is out of the question for me because I cant afford it.... on the other hand I would be able to afford either NL3 or virus c and then buy the other later maybe.... does that make sence to use them together ... or would that be a waste?

I would say that both are complementary. NL2 is very cheap nowadays and excellet for basses and leads (again, extremely used and abused in euro/psy). If you wish to make leads like those in Euro-trance, buy a JP80x0 (cheap as well and excellent for pads/strings/leads), but your businness is Psy-trance, so buy a NL2.
