I think alien 303 sounds good only with good procesing, in my case I dont use compression, I just add mono eq and some bass boost @ root key freq. And for the evelope/decay thing I use the gate knob on channel settings of FL studio and I have got some nice results but only for uplifting psytrance, in case you want a killer / agressive bass alien 303 is not the one, better try sylenth 1

i agree sylenth can be your dirty bitch xD but also u need 1-good preset 2- right compression 3 - good eq 4 - and most important - Imagination

BUT: Just about.. HOW should i compress the fullon bass? i have NO clue whatsoever.

if you have no clue about compression so probebly you will just ruin the bassline if you try to compress it. it's not that improtant for my opinion. but anyway i like to give the compressor attack about 10 ms, release about50 ms, ratio 2.5-3. i push the trashold till the volume turn down about 5 db. but i'm sure some people compress the bassline totaly different. there are no exactly rules about it. it's about taste also.

I've heard ur basslines, some are really powerful, also u were one of the top10 in the ephedrix remix contest were'nt you?

thank you! i got the 5th place at the contest and hopefully my remix will be on the remixes ep. anyway i'm quite sure all the basslines on my soundcloud page are without any compression. i felt then i just ruined my bassline when i compressed it. just lately i fill i inderstand how to give my bassline more power with compression.

alien 303, a pro sometime ago told me to never tweak the original presets BASSLINE
i also try cronox too... good wave spect
