So im planning to buy a hardware synth to use as my main synth in the studio. So I was wounderinga little what you guys think is a good allround synth. Ive been looking av access virus TI, for the reason that it has so many modulation options and different soundwaves and such, and ofcourse i heard it has a good sound.
Pads are gonna be a big part of what I do, but also normal leads, effects, percussion.

anyone has any suggestion of some other synth that is similar? Maybe even an analog one?

virus ti....seriously? bigger headache than a petulant teenager, owned it , sold it, meh!
VST in a box if you ask me

JP8000 + Nord 2. would be more useable (imho) and spend the rest on a nice cruise

Ti is good allround digital synth. More then just a vst in a box, well thats what i think, you can use the atomizer for glitching up stuff, use the arpeggiator just as sequencer for other (soft)synths, and has tons of modulation possibilities and waveforms like you said. on top of that you get a build-in -backup- soundcard of pretty good quality. access is in my opinion a good company, just had some trouble and had on a sunday within a couple of hours a usefull response from the helpdesk. also they keep on expanding the software possibilities through updates.

Its a bit expensive though. For that money it makes sense to do some comparisons.           http://soundcloud.com/vipal

motif - dont own it but know it. I guess nothing beats it , apart of modern software synths or some hardware modular madness.
