So I figured it was about time to own a legit copy of ableton. I'm going to be upgrading from a legit version 5 I'm getting.
I just wanted to ask if uninstalling my cracked copy, then installing live 5, then buying/installing the newest release of 8 would not give me any problems. I'm assuming this will be ok, but I wanted to know if anyone had problems or if there's something left in the registry or other things like that which might mess things up for me. Any help would be great, thanks!

I had a "trial" version of Ableton 6 installed when I installed my legit version of Ableton 8, and I didn't experience any problems.

My experience is that when you uninstall a cracked version and reinstall another version (cracked or not) you still have to go through the "registration" process.

after you uninstall, run 'regedit' and do a search for ableton, if you find anything delete it...that is if you have any trouble installing, which I doubt you will.
alternatively you could re-install windows to be sure - not a bad idea if its been a long time since you've done so.
