atmos music for me had what would i would consider as that "goadelic" progressive sound. 'headcleaner' album is one of my favorites of all time.

Deedrah's older stuff (esp. Purple Unicon)

If you never heard them, how can you judge them? :huh:  Well, After 15 + releases, I would say that Goa-Head is just the same as Destination Goa ect. They all contain pretty much the same tracks and artists. .. But my point was that a lot of artists from these IE. compilations use a progressive drift to tell their story and make you fly. I'm not stating I'm correct, I'm just saying I think so, in a way. But then again, I'm not exactly thinking about the pure genre 'Progressive' .. But the term 'progress' yeah? no? ok ^^

that was just a smiling quote.
nothing to deal with progressive style or not.
just that from the first goa trance compilation around 1993 to about 1998 I bought anything available in france from france, UK, germany, israel, US, japan, danmark, swedden, etc...
and if I have to compare the quality of the tracks of those compilations i say without any hesitation that the best ones are: dragonfly, blue room, twisted, flying rhino, symbiosis, koyote, digital structure,transient, trust in trance, spirit zone, tantra trance....and goa heads are really full of bad quality tracks even if some of them come from same artists

15 releases does not mean quality for me, it can mean high average sales or money enough to produce new compilations, or good marketing etc....
flying rhino was doing great compil but they closed (as symbiosis and so on...)

I judge compilations and albums on how many tracks do I keep from it into my personal musical library.
(I dont care about names, artists, labels, styles...)
When it reaches 50% I am very happy but it quasi never happens.
Usually I keep more or less about 10/20 % of tracks from compilations, which means, for example, in a yellow sunshine explosion of 20 tracks I will generally keep about 1 to 4 tracks. Not that I do it on purpose but I like to keep what sounds the best to me.
Sometime it can go up to 50 / 60 % (like first andromeda or xdream album for example) but it is very very rare.
I have bought lots of compilations ( about 15 to 30 $) for 1 only track (example: nano records compil with "digital world" from protoculture that I bought just for this track).
{ And by the way (about price) a big ironic thanx to sub 6 of whom I saw a few years ago (2005) an album in virgin megastore (in Paris) with 9/10 tracks for the litle price of 36 euros !!!!.....not that trance should be sold about numbers of tracks or weight like tomatoes but it gives me an idea of the aim and expectations of the artist and/or the label when I see this kind of things !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! }
Having bought the first goa head, I was so disapointed of what was on it (another 30 euros lost), after that I only listenned to them at friend's home and recorded very very rarely some tracks on them cause I just did not found any that suited me...
as Stevie Wonder says in 1 of his beautiful track:
"just because a record has a groove don't make it in the move "

And I would add to the list:
Suria´s Dark Side of the Sun double album.
It´s one of the best albuns of the first half of the 2010´s. BTW any news from Martin Freeland, my favorite producer of all the times?

I perfectly know what I am saying cause I am expressing my personal judgement about quality of goa head compilations which I dont like ( I hope you will let me use my right of expressing my taste about quality of compilations on a music forum ?? No ?? yes ?? )
but maybe you know better than me which music,compiplations and labels I consider being of high quality ?
but all this argue is useless and out of topic

I dont like those compilations

the link to my page is for others than you...there are other people than you here...
you have the right to like music and compilations that you want and so do I
feel free to compare the music on my page and the music of goa head compilations...
and I am not a dj with thousands of fresh music
just making my page with released music as a respect for artists
if you are in the production of thoses compilation or closed from them that's ok, that won't change anything about my tastes
the average quality of those compilations are lower than spirit zone, digital structure, tantra trance, yellow sunshine explosion, flying rhino etc... thats is my taste, that is my my oppinion and I say it and write it here...
I am not in any label, I am just a listenner...since 1993 for this specific kind of music
