I'm a massive fan of the old Goa-trance style music, which I like to listen to all day long as loud as possible!!!
I was wondering whether anybody else actually still listens to this sort of trance, or whether it's just me. Though I still love the the music being being made now (well a bit of it) I find it rarely has the magic that the old stuff seems to have.
I am playing at the upcoming Indigitous party and was thinking about doing a goa set with all the music coming from at least before 1997 - a lot of old classics basically!
Is this a crap idea and I should get with the times or does anybody else think it might be fun to hear some of the old stuff played loud?
Most of the music I have will not have been heard in a London club for years and it may be more original than playing new music, much of which you regulars may have heard recently.
Any thoughts?

I think its a top idea to do a classics set - especially as many folk will never have heard many of the tunes. |

i think its great to incorporate old classics in a set.
'Down the crossroads' is a fabulous nostalgic trip. I reviewed doof, GNOR and cosmosis quite recently , so check out the cd reviews if u wanna.
i routinely play some filteria and ka-sol too, both artists u se the old skool style well enough.
anyways, i think its rather bold and ironically creative to drop these types of tracks in between.
put it up when ur done maybe?

The party is Indigitous next Friday at the Telegraph, Brixton.
Look at the full posting thread for full details.
Thanks for the feedback, and those of you who have emailed me personally. Hopefully see many of you at the weekend! |

I do like Old school too... and this style is coming back now with artists like Filteria, Khetzal, Talpa,... and nice parties in Belgium and elsewhere in europe.
Hope UK is going to taste it too |

be sure there r alot of ppl who miss these days and just shut up coz really no way to bring this past time back , the time of the golden dawn of pure original goa , its hard to find all the rare stuff frm 95-98
imagine ur head just blows up with hypa active tunes frm the past as these
Seb Shakta ' Future is Now' , ' Between the Nothin '
Tim Shultd ' the 2nd Earth' etc
and also there r many of these new gen psy trancers who never heard that stuff and all they know its modern dark psy " And as the gods have given us , so we return the gift " - Bill Cosmosis " Gift of the Gods "
" That's right - otherworld lifeforms . A fucking alien ! "
