goa was not so predictable!today's most releases are so formulaic.i am bored of the same structure and sounds.
but something that will be really difficult to come back is the spirituality of this music.goa is divine as a hearing.this spiritual touch in the songs is long long gone...

Hello to alls,

1 minute of no talking for Goa....

You all say its dead and i beleive you. i have just discovered Yellow sunshine explosion records that come out evey year with compilations like

Goa 2003, 2005, 2005...
Ticket to Goa
Goa vol 1, 2, 3...
Goa beach

and so on...

Ok I have a look at the artist like chromosome, cosmic tone, wreched machines, son kite and loads of outhers so we have current artists of both full on and progresive.

So do these compilations have anything to do with Goa? I do understand they use the word Goa instead of Psy Trance but i dont know, lots of tracks sound to good to be progressive, but at the same time not as monotonus as full-on. (i just bitched off both progressive and full on so no one complains )

I like the "old" goa too and i would love a free party, unfortunatly i have this bug that is always in search for new sounds and makes me borred of old sounds... so i wish goa could liven up a bit and bridge the gap between mini and full on? Well i dont know... u guys the experts, enlighten me, i dont know much about trance so im probably talking crap.

Just to add something here. There is no goa trance, people. If you mean the music produced between the years 1994-1997 then its name is Psychedelic Trance.I could say ORIGINAL Psychedelic Trance. The name of the today's music is.....i really don't know and to be honest i don't care to find one.           Dance For Paradise!

yes...original psychedelic...that's for sure!but many tracks had eastern melodies and sequences->so goa tracks were produced as well.it doesn't matter after all.this is just a terminology fact.
what does matter is that madness is
gone,psychedelia is gone...
but let's don't forget that:
NOTHING LASTS...BUT NOTHING IS LOST!:)
keep the spirit up!

It's very important to call this music psychedelic trance and not " old goa " and something like that..For the new sound we have to find another name " fat bass " , " stupid bass " , " beat and bass " or something like that.Does anybody know where and when true psychedelic parties are taking place?G. Staikos played good music two years ago!

Ritual_om you are right. The main fact is that psychedelia has gone. But i mentioned that about 'goa' term because i see many people, especially newcomers to say 'Oh,i don't like goa.I prefer psychedelic trance like Parasense,Parahalu etc.'
Man,it's so ridiculous!
Keep the spirit up,of course!

Thanks for not using the word 'Psychedelic' to describe your music!

Madness and psychedelic has gone?!?!?! i think you are living in another parallel universe with no psy!
psychedelic exists.. dont expect to be like 10 years ago.. psychedelic is evolutionary muzik. Maybe u dont "see" and hear the psychedelic because your brain and your body needs something "Smoother" or more melodic.. or something else anyway
Listen to some grapes or some derango and tell me there is no madness or psychedelic (despite if you like that kind of psy...)!

Drunken Monk,Derango's music is much better than the others for sure. But again this sound is not something new and innovative. If you remember,Xenomorph was the first who creating dark psy, back in 1997.He made his own style and although i don't like these dark sounds,i respect him for that.

But wasn't only Xenomorph back then who his music had sth different from the others. All the artists have spent years to develop their personal sound. If now we have categories as full on,progressive, minimal etc then we could have MWNN's style,Sandman's style,Juno Reactor's style,Elysium's style.I hope you understand me.

Why that is not happening now? It's very simple. Each of the artists back then, had different music background(new wave, electro, acid house, pure trance, new age, variety of 70s,80s and 90s underground music). So the final result on their music was sth totally new, strange and quality at the same time.A music that was demanding not only technical skills but also music knowledge from the artists.

Today a young boy that hears, lets say, Parasense's music, tells to himself:'I can make it too'.He starts with the basics, beat, hats and bass and then he adds strange annoying sounds. So you see that this boy's music background is only 'Parasense' and the similars. How he can discover sth new,how he can escape from this formula, breaking the rules and say ''that was Parasense, and THIS is gonna be me.''

And because we are talking about dark music and evolution let me say this.Do you know a track from Total Eclipse called 'A Little Bit Of Chaos? If you don't,then find it.The difference of this track from the today's tracks is that the first is 'dark MUSIC' and the seconds are 'dark EFFECTS'.Two completely different things that we can't compare.

About the evolution of the music you must be joking!Just an example from the thousands:Quirk-Dance with the Devil.A fucking dark, groovy, intelligent, crazy piece of music coming from the future.Tell me if you have heard something in the same style as this track.NOWHERE.Where you can see the evolution of the music?Tangerine's Dream music, back in 70's ,was so futuristic that even now a lot of people can't hear it.Evolution and chronology of the music don't stick my friend.

And to make something clear,i don't have problem with this music and with the people that hear it.I don't have problem with the metal funs, with punks etc.But when this music uses the psychedelic trance culture then the things are confused.

Old skool goa trance, has still its own mark on a big number of productions. Talpa, Tikal, Droidlock, Torraka (a bit downbeat, but has the vibe nonetheless), and so many more I could mention. The truth is that back then, even though most of the people knew Astral Projection, MFG, Chakra , Transwave, KoxBox, Tsuyoshi (Prana), there were groups/dj's/producers who dared to be different. I can remember how Deviant electronics, Orichalcum, Syb Unity Nettwerk, and many more, composed a "new" sound. Now, it seems that the "new" sound, is the one which is approacing the "old". How funny is that...As for the compilations that come out with a huge "GOA" line all over the cover, I think its just for commercial purposes, nothing more. Not that they are bad though, YSE is a serious label, and its definitely not the worst, aliened...I rarely listen to bad productions from them, and they seem to be quite selective with their releases. Both full-on and progressive. Star Sound Orchestra releases are on that label, for example.           Bring yourselves into the light
