Hello greetings from Mexico , ok ill try to make an objective review of this festival. The festival took place in Mexico City on April 30, May 1 and 2.

Many people like to argue about all the artists that didnt played , and they where annouced on flyers, but i rather take my time mentioning all the good artists that did play.

We had some problems getting to the location because the maps where not accurate :S:S many other people where lost also for several hours... but i finally got to the party on saturday morning around 4am. Dj Celli was playing his DJ set, very good dark trance for that hour. After him it was Cyrus the Virus' turn. He played live till the morning, excellent performance with most of the tracks remixed. After him Riktam n Bansi go on stage for the first time in the day . They played Zorba at 7:00am. Then B & R DJ like 1hr after their live.

After this killer taste of power people got extra 4 hrs of Neuromotor DJ set everybody lost their mind and fred lost his mind too as always:funny:

then it was the turn for the mexican DJs and Shove and Bathik played versus with a very nice selection of tracks and nice mixin' techniques. After them DJs Akbal,Migue, Messie and Dende played the rest of the day keeping the party alive also with excellent techniques annd manipulations:D

at 8:30pm it was the turn for one of the most expected mexican live acts Amadetzaná. Spontanously the dancers duplicated or triplicated in a matter of 30 minutes... it was already night time and everybody was dancing and shouting again, the boys gave their best performance ever!

After this amazing act of our hommies it was the turn for Soundaholix, but first Riktam DJed again for like about 1hr. Then Bansi and Celli prepared everything and they began Soundaholics Live! incredible sounds , rithms , melodies... everything so fresh it killed everybody on the dancefloor
After the live, Riktam began mixing again !! this was like the begging of riktam's maddness, it was like the 3rd time he was mixing. jejejejeje

The party was absolutly on fire and then Melicia heated it even more with the killer live of the brother n sister amazing vocals of the girl

Then guess who played ? r u a gms fan ? or perhaps skazi fan ? DJ Riktam agaaaaain!!!!!!! playing all the tracks of skazi n friends ... we was like out of control.. hehehehehehe then bansi set up the computer for his 3rd live act in the same day and they began playing GMS
ppppppppfffffffffff awesome tracks as always and very nice remixes of other artists ! very impresive indeed pfffffff then Riktam played some more jajajaja really im not kidding hahahah maybe the party should been called ''Riktam and Bansi's Party'' hohohohoho i loved it because im the freakiest GMS FAN ever! lol ... ok back to the review... ehm... after several more hours of Riktam djset, finally Raja Ram arrived at the party and began to make the illusion he was mixing hehehe really he didnt mix anything, not even one beat mix, he just changed the channels hardcore but he was dancing like Micheal Jackson from outer space or something and everybody went crazy seeing grandpa like MAD :great:

then it was time for GMS to break their own record, they've never had been booked to play all their projects live in the same day and party, hehehe that day they did it ... for the 4th time in the day, Bansi got to the nordlead2 and Riktam to the mixing desk and they played with Raja and Chicago their famous 1200 Micrograms. hehehe do need to say more? after this incredible live with Raja playing the flute and chicago saying stuff and playing the congas, DJ Lucas began playing a well mixed proggressive set 4 the morning...it was a nice breath taker after all the scandal in the night hehehehe then Mr.Simon Posford came on sight and headed to the stage... he played live after lucas. Incredible remixes of old the oldies but goodies. but i think simon should do some more new tunes and leave the oldies rest eheheheh just a humble opinion.

Im very tired with all this party and all this typing but ok im almost over heehehehehe , after Simon Posford , mexican DJ Panda played a very powerfull set raising up the mood again. Then Lotus Omega live kept rocking the dancefloor his entire live act, amazing new sounds and braakes of this bro respect! after or this mental bombing, information storm the whole weekend, some very good artist had the mission to end the festival , Earthling live played a killer morning trance act, which motivated the crowd.

Well this is my first party review, i had a great time in this party, thhe location the sound system and everything was KILLER regardless the bad organization of the staff , but it was no doubt one of the best trance events this year

cheers!

Man, this was a good party here at Mexico, and one of the biggest!!! It was a shame i couldnt go to this party, some ppl say it was killer, killer sound, killer music, killer place, and killer deco!!! But some ppl also say it was killer sound, some of the international dj sets where just shit (dont want to say the names, killer place, but horrible ppl... However i could not go to this party, and in my personal opinion it has pros and cons, like every party at Mexico, but this had one special touch, it was GIANT!!! I bet you had fun Hoffman! And all the Sick Gang!!!

a Hug!

Copied from the above thread:

When this whole odyssey began I was a little apprehensive about attending a festival in a different country without any knowledge of the language, but as time went on my anxiety gave way to enjoyment and I had a great time. After flying in to Mexico City airport on the day of the festival, my traveling companion and I found transportation relatively easily at the prescribed gathering area. Tickets and transportation was $70USD and a really good deal as far as I was concerned.

Venue: The venue was located about 2 hours away by bus way up in the mountains surrounding Mexico City. Upon arrival we were searched by storm troopers with very very large guns. They pointed to various articles of mine and said things in Spanish. There was concern that they were going to seize all food and water prior to entering the event, but this did not occur. Thankfully, in the end I was allowed through without any trouble. The stage was set up at the far end of a vast field as it curved up into a hill, the vending was located opposite of the stage toward the entrance. There was lots of food vendors and moderately prices bottled water. Bathroom facilities were lacking and many people ended up just going in the woods. It should also be noted that there were NO TRASH CANS on the entire premises which meant people just threw their trash on the ground. I am told this is because the area is so poor that the people who work the land are paid to clean it up afterwards, I do not know if this is true.

Sound and Deco: The deco was immediately noticeable and was exceptional. Lighting was also quite good but the programmers kept the light shinning out away from the stage which made watching some of the live acts kind of annoying. The sound was big, but not overly loud. There were no sound glitches until the last act of the last day when a new mixer appeared to be switched in.

Music: The music consisted of 50 straight hours of full on psychedelic trance. It was merciless and played throughout the entire day. Some of the acts that impressed me:
Sharigrama - A local live act with a full on sound. Opened their set with a nice tune to the lyrics “we are the world, we are the future”. I am still looking for this tune.
Melicia - Brought with him a live vocalist that was extremely psychedelic. Very cool.
Neuromotor - WOW. W-O-W. I heard that Neuromotor was an act that had to be experienced, but I never imagined this. Fred was incredible, the entire crowd was in a fury. At one point, Fred jumped in front of the decks and ripped off his shirt, then proceeded to dance to his own kicking tunes in front of the stage. It was inspiring.
Hallucinogen - At this point I was getting sick of 145bpm full on, so when Simon started to kick out tunes at ~110-120 I was relieved and satisfied. He played some of my all time favorite tracks including gamma goblins and shamanix.
Max Lafranconi – One of the members of Etnica (who’s live set I missed unfortunately), had the mind to pull out a progressivepsy set after almost 48 hours worth of full on. It was a terrific diversion that really impressed me.

Some of the acts that did not impress me:
GMS – I slept through their live act, and their DJ sets were not so much better.
1200 Mics – It really brings cheesiness to a whole new level. Fun to watch but not so much to listen to.
Raja Ram – He really should have done a Shpongle set with Simon because his DJ set was ridiculously cheesy.
DJs – It’s as though they all shopped at the same store for their records, cause I consistently heard the same tunes over and over and over again. Really boring.

Here I will interject a serious point. Astral Projection, Astrix, and Wizzy Noise were all dropped from the lineup before the party. Eskimo was a no-show. I asked one of the organizers about this and he said it was due to law enforcement issues Eskimo was having in Israel. The same excuse was given for Wizzy Noise. I don’t know if this is true, but it was pretty crappy none the less. Also, with all this changing in the lineups the time schedule was completely shot to hell. We had no idea who was playing on stage most of the time and planning our short sleeping periods was incredibly difficult. No revised schedule was posted anywhere.

Vibe: Mexicans know how to party. The party vibe hung in the air all during the day and all through the night. Although it wasn’t the friendliest vibe, I was still impressed. There were some of those much heard of “chakas” I believe they are called. On about two occasions items were attempted to be stolen from our tents, but because of my fellow American trancers we were able to watch after eachother’s stuff without too much trouble.

All in all, I had a great time at Goa Sounds 2. I met Americans from NJ, SF, Austin, and St. Louis (I am from Detroit myself) and we all camped together and had a great time while the music played on in the background. I recommend everyone in North America try to attend a party in Mexico to see how they do it down there, because it’s really something to be seen. A big thanks to North America’s largest psytrance scene, mi amigos en Mexico!
