Personally i find the 'read another topic' solution always works best when it's one of my threads.

I like, in depth reading - and I like people to document and explain their arguments.
I think, debating is also for learning new stuff - Sometimes you learn stuff while you write, since putting things in writing gives you another perspective on things; all the while I find it interesting to read how people respond to whatever logic you apply.
What I find the most interesting is when people qoute each other, and respond totally on topic - For instance, if you reach a conclusion to something, and put forward your arguments its interesting to see how other people than yourself react to ones thoughtprocess.
Its like Dawn writes, some people have huge posts, some people small  Some are conveniently in the middle.
I do all kinds However, when a topic is complex, and I need to make a point, I will need to explain things as I go along; or else its complete nonsense.
In this case, Im faced with challenging the general consensus of what can constitute goa and/or psychedelic trance.
I like debating I guess But, only when its within a topic that holds my interest.
When I do it, I do it wholeheartedly (I dont care if I have to spend hours doing it every day, I enjoy it).

It's a sad fact that long technical posts don't get read. I could spend hours writing a really lengthy and detailed thread about something incredibly dull (have your eyes found Skazi or any other words yet) and then 30 seconds writing a few lines for another thread about Skazi and i know which would get the most hits.
As a tip... if you are writing a long, dry post and want to be sure that a certain part of it is read then just proceed it with the words 'hot lesbians'.
For example...
HOT LESBIANS
Weather forecasters predict a heat wave for the 2006 Gay Games in Montreal this year... but now back to quantum physics...
Peace and hot lesbians!

Now - Your right, and I know But, to me it doesnt matter if its long and dry.
Im not writing it for those who dont find it interesting, but for those who do (and believe it or not, they ARE out there).
At least, it has happened to me before I get positive feedback on what I write - If it falls within someones interest.
If it doesnt, I dont mind - I only write for those who are interested, for the rest, I think they are better of reading something else

Just to clarify before i go... I am not dissing either Krell's posts or long posts in general, i'm just making the observation that very long, technical and detailed posts are great if you want lots of technical and detailed information but for a lot of casual browsers they are a bit of a turn-off and don't get read - regardless of the language they speak. As i said - that also includes stuff that i have posted.
