I think DJs just invent genres to explain why there entire set sounds the same.

I wouldn't think so. Most artist categorise the music they make themselves!

i think there are too many categoris today !
but artists make music without categorise it in the 1st place !! just after when we as ppl' talk about it or someone ask us ....what kind of music this guy play ??? its more easier to use those categories to discribe it , as humans we categorising everything including music , ofcaure its all dance music but still it helps us to nevegate better ! |
