you need a fast pitch sweep but unless to go straight to around 50hz, you make it straight to around 200/100 hz maybe, and then slower to the fondamental.

with bazzism if i remember it s possible to get good result for these kicks or in soundforge, audition..but lot of synth could do it too i guess

lol was playing a little to get zap kick out of the vermona drm and my Fr Xs for the bass but what a fail , kick, bass..fail have to experiment a little more ,the drm is better for techno ,tek house kicks.. but it was fun feel back in 96 even the timings are dodgy lol. got me back in the mood to make some goa.

I don't like the kick, but I really like the bassline. Yes its not stable and it breaks every rule of today's "standards" of what constitutes a good sounding bassline, but it just sounds very good to me. Goa basslines did not have big bottom end generally anyway, they were more like an extension of all the lead layers that Goa tunes had. So you're right on the money in my eyes/ears.

You can put a big kick now that you have room in the bottom end.

yes man , but it need so much attention to details.. edited was a bit offtopic..

the Xs sound kinda rolandish there, there was some sweet spot with the filter i m not sure i nailed with the bounce but it was sounding awesome

was listening transwave yesterday and more than 15 year later i m still amazed at their production.. their synth patchs are so good.. lot of osc syncro love it, they also had some of the best goa beats sounds imo

i forgot i add the recording of the one i used in the sample, here u go man
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5107801/KICK%20DRm.zip

2 sample of same kick as same as the bassline the kick is not stable.

if you want less robotic sound it s usefull to use different sound on all hits.. with either using slight modulation on a sampler, or stuff like swing /groove can also help . as not only the bassline is not stable but everyhting that come out of a analog osc . for full on it s the opposite you are after getting things spot on but for goa , when making a snare i would sample like 4 or 5 hits so all hits are slighty different, also a bit of randomness in the timings can be good , in my example timing are not really tight but it s good imo with sound on top for goa.

trying to make the music feel it haven t been made on a modern computer is good for goa imo, even if atari had rock solid timings the gears breath unlike static modern sound
