I think the old Roland machines like tr808 got the kicks that were used during those times. I haven herad the track of goasia though.. (eventhoug full respect have even some vinyls of them ^^) but real oldskool goa kick should be a sinekick outta roland. If you have Logic there is a tr808 set for the exs sampler which could make ya happy.           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

For Goa you have three choices:
1) TR909
2) SH101
3) Not quite sure how to describe it other than a pitchbent sine wave (like many kicks used today) but longer and with a slower travel through the low mids than is fashionable nowadays. Example:

I'm proud to say that Cosmosis sampled the kick I made for this track and used it on Howling At The Moon           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Can u please explain how u sample a kick from a track? The kick crosses a large spectrum of a track, never quite understood how u guys do that...           Tudo que é melhor e mais superior em mim saúda tudo que é melhor e mais alto em si

dunno if it s what colin mean but when it play in solo, sometimes you have just one kick in a break or stuff like this making it possible to sample .

many hated these kicks btw but personaly i always loved them, punchy !! these kicks make a come back? if you look online for Zap kicks you may find some sample from some analog device but plugs are great for this too..

i love the sound of those kicks with the slower travel through the low mids, but while dancing, some of them can be quite irritating with the bass thump coming too late to coincide with the rhytm.

still that goasia kick is not one of them and neither is it from one of the great boxes from back in the time, which is not surprising since goasia is newschool goa. i have no idea how to make such a kick, but i've heard similar ones throughout many newschool tracks, and i'm quite interested if anyone here can shed some light on this.
