jews are not a race, semitic people are not a race either - it's a language family that came from the same historical root - and which includes arabic and hebrew as well as some ethiopian and north african languages - similar to indo-european language family (which includes everything from english to greek, italian, russian, hindi, and others that all come from the same ancestry in india).
now, jews are an ethnic group, like the english or the polish or the chinese - and they share similar DNA attributes, culture, language, etc. Judaism is also a religion, to which most ethnic jews belong.
