For me Gil does bring the feeling of ritual into his sets. Many others do this as well but Gil is fairly consistent. Some people like to party hard for 10 hrs and some like to party hard for 20 or more.
I know that he gets tracks from soooo many artists that have never been released and some that are only made for him to play, thats pretty cool. Over the past 4 yrs of seeing him i think he is playing his best music (to my taste) right now.
I have only seen him in SF and since thats his home town and the family that puts it on (LP's) who have great passion, make it very special.
And when on the dancefloor and you meet eyes with Gil it is different that your usual < 35 (earthyears) DJ.

might not like his parties........
his style is unique........un parallel
it is the attitude of goa that is potrayed in a way
no time frame for this guy....the watch does not exist

Love and respect for the wizard Gil, he has the perfect timing between his music and the atmosphere surrounding him, headbanging pumping tunes for the night & trippy hallucinating vibes for the sunrise.
Mixing skills are not a subject on this matter.
Ill have the pleasure to see him again on October, cant wait to hear whats on his charts.

he is actually 53
i was helping on his 50th birthday in 2001
in san francisco was a killer party
and hopefully he is gonna make it for more than 50 years again
would be great when he is 100 to make a special birthday party for him

I have heard that 'Mrs Gil' once did a drop of LSD meant to be diluted for individual doses and Gil did the same dose so that he is on the same plane.... myth or real ..... freaky..........
Gil as I understand is the great Grandpa of all the Goa sound we hear and if we cannot do anything else but worship and learn from a true guru of GOA /PRogressive
Will see him again on 15th .....

I've been to many parties by the man from his isra/uk days to darkpsy days and I insist.never a bad trip with goa gil.and the wonderfull of the subject is the crowd.eventhough they r all shitted in their pants in the same moment that another huge track invades EVERYBODY and I mean EVERYBODY is going "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" with their hands in the air.wtf?after all those years i still don't get it

you say that like its something "strange" or "wierd".
im sure Mrs Gil and her husband have done a lot more than "a drop" of LSD in their lives.
