I guess they'll meet up, smoke some chillums, eat some trips and talk about how they can change the world using trance music
(And oh boy, am I going to get flamed by the dark psy lovers for this one...)
Goa Gil does not rule as a DJ - technically. One thing is his trackselection, which of course is a matter of taste, but his technical skills are horrible - or he simply doesn't care about mixing, which, considering people pay for hearing him play, is just as bad in my opinion. But ok, people still show up at parties where he plays. I won't argue that he's an icon for the trance-scene (much bigger than Raja Ram) and probably also a nice guy, but technically he's certainly one of the worst DJ's I've ever heard play at a big venue. Give some room for new upcoming real talents instead.
And no, this isn't only because I don't like much of the dark psy - I've heard some amazing dark sets from the Århus crew at local parties, but 6 hours of Goa Gil trainwreck carnage is just to much for my delicate ears (I won't even dare to imagine 18 hours of this in the DAYTIME at Full Moon 2003) DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Gil's devotees claim that his mixing is part of the whole experience.
I went to my first Gil party last year expecting garbage mixing, but um, it wasn't that bad actually. mostly ambient fades. and I much prefer mixing intros and outro than the typical DJ tricks anyway.
DJ tricks = DJ ego = disturbing my trip.
Back to the topic, Raja Ram came back down to earth a while ago. Gil is still travelling. I don't know when they will ever meet.
oh wait, almost forgot the flame
and damn, I wish people would stop being pussys calling it dark psy. it's like you've never heard psychedelic trance or something and it scares you. LOL |

I completly agree. The guy plays some nice music indeed, but when the trainwreckage comes along, the whole feeling dies.
But, I don't think Raja's skills are much better...

but then, come to think of it, i prefer vomiting (raja) because it usually goes away pretty quick (never lasts more than 3 or 4 hours), while diarrhea ( gil) is a real pain in the ass, it always lasts at least a day, and if you're really unlucky, you cant get rid of it for three days.
