There is no such thing as an all-night permit in oakland, as far as I know, and certainly not for a place like the bordello which would basically have to be completely rebuilt in order to conform to california's extremely stringent fire code. |

I have an idea... seems a little crazy, but maybe give it a shot. try searching Gil on isra and see if you can't find your very same argument posted and reposted and triposted everywhere that Gil's name is mentioned. Do you think that you are giving people some insight? If you don't like the art, don't look at it. if you don't like the artist enough to not wanna be at his show, then i dunno, DON'T GO TO HIS SHOW!
sorry this is so redundant, but god this discussion is much like running into a wall covered in sandpaper and lemon juice, over and over. you might dent the wall a little, but all you really did was make your face look stupid and all stingy.
i have no ill will towards 11evin or paradigm or anyone here, i have had this talk 252 times already in person and in posts, and i will undoubtedly be dragged through this mud another 468 times before all is said and done. Maybe one day when Gil retires, everyone will consider letting go of it all, but probably not.

Well I'm pretty late to get on this, lol. I'm not really on isratrance that much and didn't even know this thread existed until today!
Anyhoo I just wanted to give a quick thought on all of this. I'd also like to say that this just represents my own personal opinion and is not an official Tantra statement. While I am a big part of Tantra I am just a part 
I will say that for sure in the past Gil parties have affected our events. Even 100 people can be the difference between breaking even or loosing money… Or loosing a lot of money or a little money, lol. LovEvolution and NYE last year definitely felt it. This NYE however was not one of those occasions thankfully
The scene has changed a lot lately. Even in just the past year more and more young people and new people have gotten turned onto psy parties or variations thereof. Our NYE event definitely brought out more of a mixed crowd than I think we've ever attracted.
Our ability to attract new people has basically meant our ability to keep producing events. If we catered only to the usual psy crowd for nye and didn't cast a wider range of promotion then for sure we would have flopped. Luckily we've learned from the past and have adapted to the ever changing times. There are also some really cool new people coming into the scene and the music for the first time and they are STOKED!! Fresh energy and friendly positive vibes eager to dance and celebrate life
I've been in communication with folks from the Gil crew and we are moving forward with good intentions and good feelings. We all care about the scene and want to work together as much as possible to ensure that the desires of the community are put first. While we might inevitably still wind up conflicting from time to time on dates, we'll certainly do the best we can to avoid doing events on the same night whenever possible. It's up to the indiviudals in the community to decide what they would like to do and support based on their own tastes. As long as we have enough support to keep the beats rocking, we will

Seriously people, the psy scence > your own egos. I don't care who you are, if I know you or not, if you've been throwing parties for 1 year or 20 years, stop acting like anything here revolves around you, because it doesn't; never has and never will. Our scene is wayyyy too small for any petty bickering to take place.
I'm usually against saying something outside of my own area or outside of something I'm directly involved with, but you guys need a good slap on the hand and to be told to stop this. This is a worlwide forum, take your petty squabbles elsewhere. If you create unnecessary animosity it reflects poorly on the community as a whole, not just your own scene or agenda.
Instead of complaining or posting worthless crap like, I don't like this or I don't like that, why not provide constructive criticism as to how things could be improved for everyone. No party is specifically tailored to fit your own indulgences, so if you find things you dislike, then don't go, no one is forcing you to go to a party or listen to any music (and if you want one to fit your tastes, throw your own party or help out with others). Complaining about opinions is the biggest waste of time, do something more productive with your time or tits/gtfo.

as long as people support the scene, then its all good. both paradigm and goa gil represent the scene. you guys both rawk
just dont forget that you guys represent the scene and people look up to you and we wont have to have these discussions anymore. cuz everyone that deserves it should be looked up to for the things they do. why should we risk tarnishing that by the things we say? im sure all of us have asked ourselves this question before..

How hard or what skill level is there to mixing dat?Isn't the dat abilities at question no different than mixing anything together without pitch control?Isn't reading numbers and simple arithmetic like minus & plus as skilled as a dat mixer can be? Can beat matching only work if both tracks are written the same tempo or in measurements that fit?Editing out the intro so the track starts on the bass line or kick when play is hit seems like a super hard dat skill. Couldn't a first grader mix dat and still have time to play a game of connect the GD dot's between mixes? No great skill required,it's the music that keeps the dance floor moving.can't any dj do the same thing if they wanted or were allowed to play that long providing there is enough dope, practice,payment and nothing else to do in life but get high and pray to jehovah or WTF ever it is he bows down to.No offense to any believers out there but has no one notice the adventure offered or preached enclaves an ego? Do Divine people who live that path,have partners? Would the answer to that be the first clue that Gil could be a blasphemous to what is inviolable?
