Well, let me put it this way. Have you ever seen Gil on a lineup other than his own parties? Yes. Its a mind opening experince. But say you put him on the stage where the crowd cannot see the DJ... do you honestly think they will respond in the same way ?
Goa trance has never been about the DJ. Its always been about the people. But as each year goes by its more about who's playing and how many unrelased tracks are in the set.
Maybe I'm by myself on this one but the music comes first.

and for petes sake, know your music. Skazi is NOT psychedelic-rock.
Goto the record store and pick up some Pink Floyd or Hawkwind. |

there is something y gil is not on the line up where other dj's play and there's a reason for that ..
he's not come to dj ..he comes to play at a party to take ppl for a trip ... a journey ....and talking abt responses where ppl can see him or not ...u shouild hav been to disco-valley gatherings on new years eve couple of years bk ...now no disco-valley parties bcoz it has become commercial ..
and 1 of goa-gil's main theories is that goa-trance is for people and not the dj...and may b that's y he is not that good at mixing ..its more abt the selection of sounds and to put them across in a better way and thats what goa-gil does ...
and talkin abt pete's sake ?????may b m wrong abt skazi ....coz m not into that type of music ...never was ..........

U seem not to understand trance dance 
I often dance in the same position with just small movements for hours into trance. And i like it much.
Goagil is the best dj i ever heard till now. I completly understand what filter wrote.
I went to a small openair in germany two years (maybe three) ago where he played. He started and played the whole party his music for active meditation.
And i can tell u coolin, even if u start dancing full power, at least after 10 hours u have to slow down with ur movement.

all goa-gill's fan should form their fan club in respect for a man that without any musical talents managed to appear on stage as a full activist of a musical scene for so many years...thanks to the drugs , he is still making illusions nowadays...
they could call it the "dreadlocks turn me on " club or the "music's always feel better with my shiva T-shirt" club ...just an idea
then they could make their own shiva-gill t shirt for the members "gill touched me ", "gill's been there ", "gill forever" ..
.
or they could also start a new religion...goa gill would become god-gill and they would praise him in huge 24hours non stop celebrations where their god would put himself in the center of everything( don't forget the big enveloppe...god doesn't play for free nowadays even if he doesn't know how to play, mysticism has its cost u know ...EGO is very bad, except mine)
or maybe they already did...???

darling psychodelia, don't you understand that by your words you actualy hamper Gil's agenda and teaching?
Gil's belief in totaly release of body & mind means also release from mental constraints such as blind acceptance of things over deep meditation and understanding for yourself - yet you try to make him a 'god', put him on a pedestal far away and above his tribe of dancers...
Though I do not 'dig' Gil's music (never have), and though I belive it is sad to see psychodelic trance becoming evil, harsh and straight-forwardly boring I have full respect for the man and his work.
I think that if I turn off the volume when watching him prepare for his set or playing his gig he is actualy endearing - if only he didn't play such a horrible attrocity of sounds.

Gill played at a dark festival in Greece 3 years ago a 17 hours set ,the first 8 night hours people went mad about his set,when the morning came and the sun was shinning
Gill was still playing the same frenzy night demon set until late afternoon and for the last 5-6 hours NOBODY
was at the dancefloor,,,,No respect at all for somebody who does not respect the people at the dancefloor,,, |

in this case i beg to differ ! trance music is about an experience and not individual factors .. the music as well as the guy behind the deck goes equally in making a trance dance experience truly memorable .. as ive said before since gil is not a renowned artist and not even a top notch dj but its just his presence is awe inspiring that transcends energy on the dancfloor .. so stop questioning the unquestionable ! missing plug-in |

While I do agree with what you write, I think we have to face the fact that Skazi does the same thing for some people as Goa Gil does for others.
Its just a matter of what you like, who is your idol?
When you think about it, I believe you will know it to be true.
The exact same thing can be said for any person who is put on a piedestal by a fan based audience.
