44 is today's 34

Maybe for you! Keep me out of it!!

Now now It was never about you so relax

I am relaxed mate!

Just that your statement looked like a generalization!

No what I meant was that some people today (compared to years back) feel more like 30 when they reach 40. Here in Denmark we have a saying that you are 30 when you reach 40.

Oh! got it!!

Sorry if i bothered you           We were born naked & grow up to become wicked.

What a trainwreck            “What we need is the development of the Inner Spiritual man, the unique individual, whose treasure is hidden in the symbols of our mythological tradition and in man’s unconscious psych.” - CJ Jung

I like that I feel that way exactly. (and actually have several Danish friends my age who are definitely living that way (Beat Agency, you may have heard of the skater Nicky Guerrero).

So how does our age perception apply to our music taste? How has experience with music at this age affected our taste?
This is something I've been rolling around in my head lately, as I can't seem to find any particular rule around it.

I have heard the name Nicky Guerrero but I do not have any insight into the Skater world even though I skated on ramps when I was a teenager

As for my own taste it's changed many times over the years. In the 80's I was heavily into "New Wave" music (Depeche Mode, Ultravox, Japan, Visage etc.). Then I had a break in the late 80's listening to all sorts of music and rediscovering Funk and Disco and around 1990 I got into House and the fresh out of the box Acid House (incl. the early Warehouse raves). Then in 1992/1993 I got into trance and techno (that's what we called it back then) and partied my ass of for a few years. Then Goa trance became popular around 1994/1995 in Denmark via the UK scene. At the same time I also listened to a lot of downbeat and was heavily into tribal. Goa left and I had a long break from the whole scene from 2000 - 2003 and never got into the music that had it's roots around 2001 (Full-on and the early progressive). Later on I got into the now more mature progressive but fast left it again as I became very stereotype and faster and faster ending up as a clone between progressive/Full-on.
Again I was back with Downbeat (which I never really left) and Tribal and at the same time rediscovering House which I still love (Classic Old-school House, Deep House, Tech House etc.) and also produce.
I never got into the Neo Goa or any "new" genre the psytrance scene has to offer these days. I find it to be music that try to rediscover the past but does not hit the nail.
So now I am very much into Electronica/Downbeat and House and also slowly playing around with Tribal again.

My point with this long rant is that we all change our musical preferences through out our lives (other wise it would be a sad life musically) and I do believe as we grow older we tend to seek back to rediscover our youths music (Many people around my age seem to love 80's music again).

But as an artist I always try to look forward and to seek new grounds.           www.beatagency.dk
