I actually asked him that about two years ago.
He said that he plays what he likes and this music is just much more interesting and psychedelic and was bored with all the similar sounds coming out that were not psychedelic.
When I asked him again how does he connect to the violent messge that is obvious in some track names and in the music he said that the music matters and not the track names and that historically,
one of the many aspects of music
was to convey social commentary on current events, and perhaps these types of titles reflect on, and protest, the current state of world affairs.
Your other reasons might be just as valid of course

just went to Gil's party he played from 9 pm to 5 pm .
This man has not just the good vibes everybody is talking about ... he really uses music to cure. so i think is not about if he is good or bad or the best or "one of the best" he is the oldest, The Shaman .
to hard for some egos around...

I think he has the best taste psytrance smeared all over his sets. He's already a big name in this world and whether or not he's playing good or bad tracks you still enjoy them. Plus he's the few I've heard around here that played back to back psykovsky tracks from his new album. They were wonderful indeed.

Shit my very firsttrance party in San Francisco in 1996 was a GOA GIL party ,Wow what the hell is this I thought..........Now Gil is a Friend of mine for 10 years and I still have yet to see or hear any one put out the vibes and energy that he does .And beside s when I wanna get outta my head and go he can give me the musical space for hours to get lost in.....He is just his own thing.And the rest of us are our own thing.Were all have different need sfor the trance doorway to fling open so to spreak and let you walk thru heaven in your mind.He can give u that space .IF you just LET Go and DANCE |
