I am really happy to be able to see him play here, but a bit dissappointed at the party being at Differ. I always liked how his gatherings were very spiritual in nature and not commercialized like many of the huge parties here in Tokyo. Maybe some of you guys have experienced it, but for me it is hard to imagine a Goa Gil party with a bunch of random clubbers who have no idea who the hell Goa Gil is. Im sure it will still be a kick ass time, but I am not expecting it to be a spiritual gathering by any means. I think for that you need an outdoor venue, small crowd, and good honest organizers that are not about making heaps of money. Let me know what you all think. -Spliffnik
PS- Gil, Ariane, can't wait to see you guys on this side of the planet! COme again in the springtime when outdoors are possible! We will be waiting!

Hopefully the 3 other parties, namely the Arcadia madness, will attract those not truly interested in the Goa Gil experience. Though I've yet to be there, I'm definitely interested in such an experience. Yes, it seems like a more private outdoor gathering would be more appropriate. At least Differ will offer the space to move about and express oneself with dance.
About the organizer, I don't know about "good" or "honest", but personally I do like Chikyuya and feel they at least have a true trance heart.
Hope I can make it.

So there are 3 other parties that weekend, huh? That is GREAT news! My fantasy would be for ALL the people who are not interested in the Goa Gil experience ( it IS an experience, NOT a party) to go to the other events. Let there be a small crowd, of only those who have been there or are willing to experience it (i.e., open their hearts to the experience). I don't want to sound like some snob, and I am definitely not one. But to me, this experience is truly sacred, and I don't want anyone trampling on that. I will be happy to see all those who will respect it and want to enjoy it. The more that see the Light, the better. Sorry to the promoters for wishing it to be small, but I think you can understand. If you are having Gil come out, I hope you are trying to create the atmosphere that comes with it! Let the madness be unleashed in Japan!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Evil!? Mmmmmmm... evil.......

This is a disaster as far as i am concered 2 BIG parties at venues that are just about 10minutes away from each other...
not too good as far as i am concerned. Here is one weekend to see just what happens, to what organization, because for sure from 3 of these parties 2 are going to suffer severe losses.
Goa Gil, after so many years has to come on a day, when the most popular trance act is playing at a venue 10 minutes away...
sad...

Yes, it is unfortunate that someone is going to lose money on this. But from the point of view of having the pure trance dance experience at Goa Gil, this is a great thing. Like I wrote before, I think the real disaster would be for Gil to be the only party in town and have many people who are not there for the experience come and trample the most sacred gathering in the trance world. Chikuuya is one of the few wonderful organizations in Tokyo that is actually trying to bring back what is lost in the Tokyo trance scene, and although its obvious that they dont want to lose money, I dont think they are doing this for profit. A Goa Gil gathering is not meant to be profitable, it is about bringing awareness and compassion to a world where spirituality is being lost. Yes it is good for people to be exposed to his message, and I think its great he's coming to Tokyo to share his message with many people who do not know about it. But its also extremely important that all the participants are very respectful of the message he is trying to communicate. Without the appropriate environment and energy, it becomes very difficult for Gil to spread his magic. So from that standpoint, I am very happy that there are two other parties that will hopefully attract the negative elements, as they usually do. But I also wish that Chikyuuya, who has been so kind to invest their time and energy into such a wonderful event, at least break even (or not lose heaps of money.) Like I said Goa Gil is not the money maker that a TIP world party with Astrix and GMS and whoever else, and Im sure they know that. I would even guess that they scheduled the event on this night on purpose. If that is not the case, they still get kudos from me for choosing a night when only the souls that are open to his message will come. I guarantee that with the right environment and people, this night will unleash a world of Psychedelia that Tokyo has not witnessed in a loooooong time.
See all you guys there!!!! -Spliffnik

Throwing more than one party at the same time is part of the reason that Japan's trance scene has become a money making machine/competition, rather than a personal spritual dance experience.

I would love to see Goa Gil in Japan or anywhere for that matter. I still haven't experienced his magic, except on CD.

Spliffnik good luck on spreading the positive vibe and show Goa Gil how the trance experience should be in Japan, not what it's become.

Well from what i have heard CHIKUUYA is going to be a packed party. All advanced tickets have been sold out, so you know what that means.
Arcadia party unfortunatly seems a little tough, but i am sure there will still be a lot of people there.
Cosmosis party at yokohama.... No comments

Hope to all that are going to parties this weekend that they have a safe trip.

Sounds like the Japanese trance scene has regressed into some kind of "studio alta"-shame cause it used to be fucking great! I don't think Gils party will surpase his last one he did in Japan on Nijima Island-now that was a party, a real party. I'm sure those who were there (about 200 of us) will remember that for a few years to come!

well lets see how it end. unfortunately i m heading off to mexico during this period to play......Gil is a legend but not sure all ppl loves it since the japanese ppl now have very distinct pop mainstream tastes more than experience as you said.
Neuromotor and Total Eclipse sounds very nice thou......Total Eclipse full live would be killer too.....

Hikari, Gil's party will NOT be packed. There were only 300 presale tickets, and so that probably means about a 1000 people. Man it will be so sweet. See you guys therE!
