Beat Bizarre and Iboga Records promo texts:
Beat Bizarre is Martin Zimmermann from Copenhagen.
Beat Bizarre was taking shape in the late 90´s, and the first result of the work was "Conscienceless", later released on the first 12" together with the tracks “Hallugrabber” and "Deep Disco Profile". The first album “Lewd” released with Iboga Records on 2001 is still considered by many one of the best progressive albums. The track “Brain Drain RMX”, included in this album, hit thousands of dance floors. The album’s style was formed by deep pulsating beats, funky rhythm patterns atmospheric sounds and melancholic moods, but still music had a full on energy.
“Lewd” had a big success and Beat Bizarre live set was requested by many organizers around the globe. So far Beat Bizarre has played in countries such as Japan, Mexico and all over Europe. Later on the 2002 Beat Bizarre got invited by TIP Records to work with them, where there was released “Pop the Question” and “Swallow”. Beat Bizarre also participated with a remix in “Cross Link” a compilation by Iboga and Digital Structures. They did as well as a track for Plastic Park’s compilation “Into the Parkness”. The second album “Pandora’s Groove Box” allowed Beat Bizarre to experiment with a more full on sound, being “Urban Disturbance” the track that catches the attention of their listeners.
Beat Bizarre has worked with Iboga Records since the beginning and both parts play a strong role in the development of the Copenhagen Sound, the last album from Beat Bizarre, the third production “Somersault Industries”, was released in April 2005. The reactions has been amazing, some has even voted this album as the best of Beat Bizarre.
Now Beat bizarre is in the studio again, making tunes for a new album, so expect some new tunes in the set, mixed with the big hits Beat Bizarre is known for!
The story of Iboga Records began in the middle of the nineties when an organisation called “Rotundum” arranged several events in the period between 1994-97 in the greater area of Copenhagen, Denmark. Dj's Amon, Banel, and Emok were 3 of the 25 involved in the group, and after years of event organising & performing, the idea of a Copenhagen record label, a platform for a new progressive electronic sound was begining to take shape.
A studio was started, and in 1998 the first C.D. compilation (Tabernanthe) was released. It consisted mainly of the newest and freshest Scandinavian sounds of that time, and it was in these early days that the artists Beat Bizarre, Phony Orphants, Oryx, Reefer Decree, and Lurifax, made their first groundbreaking releases and started to build a very strong reputation on the Iboga label.
Today the Iboga artist roster includes names such as Behind Blue Eyes, Phony Orphants, Antix, FREq, Liquid Soul, Perfect Stranger, Sun Control Species, Flowjob, Ace Ventura, Beat Bizarre, and Reefer Decree.
Furthermore Iboga records have two sub labels, “Sofa Beats” (downbeat and chill-out / ambient) & “Prestige Music” for progressive electro / house.
Since the early days Banel & Emok have been working hard on establishing the label on a global level. It is one of the leading in its genre and they assure that the label will keep delivering those beautiful & amazing sounds that have become the trademark of Iboga Records. |
