Started at 5pm saturday at hilltop. then break for a while and shifted location.... lasted till Monday morning.
Great Time!
It poured during the party in breaks.

when i used to travel to goa each winter from 99 - 2002 goa gil was always present at one party or another (usually christmas eve or ny). then a few years after no sign of him.
does anyone know if he still appears at the parties or has the moved on altogether?
he seems to play japan allot these days |

Well goa gil has moved base to japan as to whatever shit he faced in goa in the last couple years before he left, been a few years now and goa is not what it used to be... too much too often ,certainly not a state of mind anymore but then again you only need one corner to find magik and peace.So to each his/her own.

the thing is, has Goa ever been free from party disturbances? maybe in the 60s and 70s but certainly not since the 90s.
every year i've gone from 99 onwards people ALWAYS say the party scene is worse than year before, but despite that there are always parties on. it's always been the case that parties have been put on for bribe money, i guess that's what gives Goa its exciting edge.
its just sad Gil doesn't make the effort to play there anymore because that was one of the highlights of the winter over in Goa. i remember even in 99/2000 when he played there were constant rumors of bust ups and police interventions.
so to make my point again, that's not a new thing in Goa it's always been part of the scene. |
