Hippies are the ones who found goa... Psymusic and its all related accessories is the speciality of goa (be it clothes or hats to bongs n blots) ... Goa Trance is world famous... Partying and backpacking is the thing to do in goa (apart from the regular tourism) ... so much music/musicians inspired by goa trance... beach scenes and shacks r kickass... all the different cusines brought by different ppl from all over the world,. the colourfull people around... Flea Market is world famous... the lifestyle... Spirituality... peace luv n fun... etc etc etc... we can find a million reasons why "goa" is "goa".. its just not a place, its a state of mind  ........... this might be sounding pretty cheesy but all the regular Money spending tourists., what they say are nothin but just a regular boring tourist... nothin great abt them except they spend money... and guess what most of teh tourist come to get the feel of the hippie lifestyle here... Goa is nothin without the hippies n psy junkies , the parties and the lifestyle... so minus these goa will be just another place with a beach in it... nothin special abt it.... sooooooo save goaaaaa... let it be as it was... think abt somethin else to do... what is more illegal? smoking ganja n saying peace man or dropping bombs and making war... concentrate on wats important...

i'm heading very likely to goa on july for the first time. been to india before so no big surprise i guess.
is there a must-see psy-spot i should not miss. i'm not so young anymore, have seen parties, but something really authentic stuff and no troubles...
finland scene here is busy it seems... but i live in asia mostly now. |

@Oskari - July is peak monsoon time. I guess by that time the scene would be non existenet. Most shops closed, No trance sessions(notice i am not saying parties cos techinically parties are banned and they do not take place anymore ) @ 9 bar or Hilltop. And very very few of the freaks would be left there in July. But anytime is great in goa but be prepared for dark skies, Rain and splendid isolation.
If you are looking for action of the right kind make it there before the end of April or save your trip for october.

was in goa(palolem) over de weekend...thought would attend de shanty mantra party (which never happened) but den got this headset party...
thought would be sad, but turned out just fine...three channels to choose from... green red and blue....
i was looking forward for the shanty party more, dint like it that even though there is no party ppl would still upload dem saying the do exist... bunch of crap....why would ppl do so... |
