Love this message from the GOA police chief on the sunburn festival message board...

MESSAGE from DIG Police, GOA

On behalf of the Goa Police, I'd like to personally welcome you to our beautiful state and the Sunburn Festival. We will be working with the festival team to ensure the safety and security of guests at the festival in Goa.

With several thousand people expected at Sunburn, we expect the roads around Candolim beach are going to be very busy.

Car and motorbike drivers owe it to themselves and all other road users to take extra care - keep within the speed limits, don't drive when you are tired or have been drinking, and be considerate to pedestrians and other road users.

Goa Police has a plan in place to keep traffic moving and assist with parking, but the main responsibility is eventually with you, the driver.

Large gatherings offer opportunities to pickpockets, so please keep a close eye on your valuables, especially cash and mobile phones. A simple solution, is to carry it in a zipped pocket. Try and avoid leaving valuables locked in your car - in open view, or on the back seat.

I also want to introduce you to our very friendly canine team. They're very playful, so please don't be alarmed if they come around you with their tails wagging. They're also highly trained to sniff out narcotics and drugs and will be present in and around the festival, with our anti-narcotic officers who'll be in plain clothes to ensure your safety and security.

If you are found with a drugs on your person, you will be arrested and taken into custody for questioning. Not only will you miss the rest of the festival you could be facing a hefty fine or imprisonment. We urge you to avoid any illegal substances or activities.

Goa Police want for you and your friends to have a safe and wonderful time in Goa, and hope you carry back nothing but good memories from your visit here.

If you have any concerns or problems, we will be there to assist you in any way we can. Please feel free to contact our officers and personnel at the festival, or call us on our emergency number 100.

With warm wishes,

Ujjwal Mishra
Deputy Inspector General of Police
Goa

After 40yrs of freaks in Goa, they didn't think to add some goa/psy trance acts?

Wonder if they're trying to tell us something?

well back from Goa Hilltop for 31st was as bad or as good as last year ....curlies and shiva valley were the saving grace ...some big plans of 3 days parties for the boys staying back ...Round III - Allakh Boom ....           Being, a bundle of minute, unique particulars in which, by some unspeakable and yet self-evident paradox, was to be seen the divine source of all existence.

Wow,whaaaat a crazy new year this was in goa...just came back in the morning from goa..and goa is full power..
was so lost in transcendental during my entire TRIP that i did not rememeber who played when(actually i didnt bother to know)..
curlies and shiva valley witnessed a crowd of atleast 5000 people on 31st night...amazing music which added to spectacular show of fire cracers..
they were playing mostly full on sets but after 3 am started the real massacre..what a great twilight set was played..such tight mixing..it just blew me off...u simply cannot keep your feets from grooving...and until morning came,it was total mayhem on floor..
one of the craziest acts ive seen in shiva valley..
the party got canned at 9 in the morning..
i doubt if many people who where there at the party got to know that the very party followed at Turtle Bay,Aswem beach organized by russians on 1st jan..that was full power party..full on beach party with lots of twisted dark-twilight music..
then came a banger by Jo-Confusion in 9bar..man he plays so good...i got to hear dark after such long time..
yesterday bully played in 9bar...decent mixing, good crowd..
people who all are heading for russian new year:check out aswem beach, bump in to some freindly russian and if luck is on ur side then ull find urself in a real rave..and keep it safe cozz cops are all around frisking your stuffs..stash it..

happy new year!!
boom bholenath,sab ka sath!!!

just got back... horrid bus ride!!!

well goa was as magical as ever.. but the music , atleat th guys who i heard play(nigel, karan, sanjey, etc.) was pretty old.. i had the same tracks on my playlist for the last couple of months!!!!

i had a blast all the same... vibe was a bit weird but met loads of freakazoids.. !!!!

hilltop music wise was pretty dissappointing... the only person who rocked it was yuki... what a night set... very powerful and smooth!!!!

super sam started off a bit shaky but ended well... after that was a nice cheese sandwhich session!!!!!

i liked the baseline that xp was playing with... nice atmosphere!!! and flamenco mania in the afternoon was funn!!!!!

would have liked to hear to newer stuff from everyone... but i enjoyed the mixing...

after that the dj that destroyed 9bar...pheeeeeeeeeeeeew!!!! powerful set!!! i loved the tempo this guys kept playing at...
very twisted!!!

shiva valley was fun on the 30th night...

avi and riz... meet these guys for the first time.. and the rocked the place...the only people i heard play new music!!! shiv did some rudraksh ripping too!!!!

all in all a supaaaa goa trip!!!

happy 08 everyone!!
