GMS on Hollywood

So I saw this movie last night, and sorta freaked out when the "rave" scene came on and 'Juice' came through the sound system. I recognized about 4 tracks during the scene:

GMS - Juice
Deedrah - Reload (GMS remix)
GMS - The Gimp
Alien Project - <i forget which one>

They flipped around a lot between the different tracks, but always returned to 'Reload' which was the main track of the scene, I guess you could say. I'm actually surprised there's not a lot more whining about psytrance selling out and whatnot... It'll be interesting to see what effect - if any - this has on the psytrance music biz. Might generate some sales if they put out a soundtrack with a couple of those tracks on it.

Who knows, maybe psytrance will be the next "big thing"?

I think they simply had psytrance playing in a Mexico City club scene because psytrance is big in Mexico City.. no other reason. I don't think this is any indication that psytrance is going to be more mainstream. It's just the producers wanting to give an accurate view of a Mexico City club.

The movie itself is another by-the-numbers revenge movie, with Denzel Washington cruising around and blowing away bad guys.

You can read some reviews of it on Rotten Tomatoes, which gives it 39% - http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ManonFire-1131820/ - and gives a short review like this "Man on Fire starts out well, but goes over the top in the violent second half."

perhaps they wanted to portray the mexico city club accurately, but I disagree that this is the only reason. Putting tracks in your movie takes a lot of negotiation and it is no coincidence that Deedrah and GMS were chosen for the spot. Trance is becoming very commercial, even in video games(deedrah also released a track or two on some video game titles). Many artists say this is one of the future markets of the trance scene, so I definnitely think there was a conscious decision both by the artists and the movie producers to include the music into the movie. And besides, since when were hollywood movies trying to depict reality accurately?

ps- look out for trance tracks in video games- many more are coming soon.

I saw the movie. I liked it, a little different from the common Hollywood movies...
I recognize these tracks:

GMS - Juice
Deedrah - Reload (GMS remix)
Zorba - The Rush
Alien Project - One Good

Anyone knows what else is played in this movie... I recognize another track, but can't remember it's name...
marsh, I guess that track was Zorba - The Rush and not GMS - The Gimp.

Amazing movie !!!!!

Watched it last night....... wow, thoroughly enjoyed it. The Juice just jumps out at u from nowhere. Washington acts incredibly, and the little girl does a very good job too.

Just found this on http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0328107/

<i>Just before Creasy walks into the Rave Club, there's a brief break in the music where an audio sample from Requiem for a Dream (2000) can be heard. It's Christopher McDonald's character Tabby Tibbons saying, "We got a winner!"</i>

I guess they got it wrong and it's "Juice"...
;-)

I haven't seen the movie (yet ?) but comments are not all that good, hey ...

Movie is great . Man on Fire is one of the best recent action movies . Denzel is awesome . I think if GMs track removed from there and Benny Benassi - Sfaction playing will be the same .

Saw "Man on Fire" about a half year ago. The rave scene brought a smile to my face.
Good Movie indeed           Live for the journey, not the destination.

very mediocre movie, the club scene was kind of interesting... I liked the way the people kind of just backed off a bit whenever he shoots the shotgun and keep dancing and cheering.

I definitely would only watch this part of the movie if I ever watched it again...

Also watched that movie not so long ago: Man on Fire!!

My b/f wakes me up cause he was watching it, to show me the part where they play the track Juice.....first all grumpy and the minute the track came on my face lit up It was classic!

Also loved the part where everyone cheers when they blow the place up, hahahahahha!!!           :: Life can be as bitter as dragon tears

Hahaha! that was so funny
How did you interpret that? That they actually hated the place, or they were just high as hell? Maybe both?

Anyway I thought the movie was cool, cool effects and so on, but otherwise nah... too much violent for me.           Ut ameris, amabilis esto.
