Anyone know how to create the GMS bass sound using novation bass station? Especially like the bass sound on "Rounders".

Do you know what I love about Trance music compared to Rock or Jazz or even Hip Hop?

If I were to ask some musician friends to show me a couple of guitar licks, the proper use of a fuzz box, what 32 bar form blues scale is popular with Dixieland jazz, or simply how one achieves a tremollo using one's face and a theremin, people don't just spurt out "Be yourself".

Thanks for the advice Mr Cartel Cheers

Well, no reason to keep this board running then, is there?

Don't use the same production styles of others... be yourself.

Any place, any forum...
There is always someone (newbie) what asks something like "how to make this stuff like NoNoNo" and there are always smart guys replying "be yourself, don't copy NoNoNo..."
But, before you can come up with a new stuff, it's important to learn how to make the basics. If your better advice is "don't copy NoNoNo", don't reply.
fitzoyo, I don't use to listen GMS (very rare to listen them), but find the FUGGA pack on Isratrance(which contains MIDI psy basses and drums sequences and a lot of samples - Fugga is a member here). Study them, after that, extend your experiments. Used soft synths: VB-1 is the most used synth on psy bass, ES-M from Logic as well. You can still try the V-Station and Discovery (used hardware synths are Virus B/C and NordLead 1/2).
The great secret on psy basses are the note velocity. It gives the groove you need on your track. Again, find the Fugga pack or "Bust a Move" Midi from Infected Mushroom (there was a complete midi available on Net) and study them.

The real great secret on any kind of bass is:
the balance on note's velocity and duration.

And sometimes, to layer a bass groove using note's velocity and duration over a monotonic line sub-bass.
