Apologies if this is in the wrong place but i couldn't find any answers in any of the threads.
Basically i'm trying to get a dubsteppy/glitch hop bass sound similar to this stab at 1;12.
I'm pretty stumped as to how he makes it, my guess would be a couple of detuned square waves with some FM but i'm not getting close yet. Any ideas would be great

sound like basic fm with some filter automation can't tell you exactly but if you have ableton with operator you can make this sound from experimenting pretty quickly

The important part of this sound is the filter automation.           soundcloud.com/supergroover
