the best GLITCH effect I've found is the FASTFX. its form the Electronic Instruments X2 Bundle for Reaktor 5. Its AMAZING!!! its much better from any aother cuz its especially designed for live performances. When u try its matrix also u'll be amazed of the quantity of the presets one can save. it has also its proper audio player, which means u can laod it with previously rendered file (maybe your bass-kik line at this moment)
This will surely free a lot your cpu. it consist of 6 effex and one global FX. here is aan image:

if u try it u'll forget any other shit over there...
But the only way to use it wthout much CPU power is usung an audio trak...

you could also convert any file format other than wave files into your sampler (sample conversion to wav or any other sample format)

that can be your recent word doc, porn pic collection or a horrible rap song

... pick out the best parts and glitch it up in your favourite sampler.

trackers are also great for glitching stuff. revisit comes to my mind. sample offset, retrigger and such stuff is pure fun.

choose several takes of any source material, use some variations, put them through the vstfx buffer override with random settings, cut them properly and reimport in your favourite sampler.

did I say that I like squarepusher ? ! ? hehe           soundcloud.com/epsylohm

I never heard of CPU's maxing out or freezing or any of that until I saw this thread...my idea of "glitching" is taking sound samples and messing with them in Sound Forge to get the glitch sound, and lining them up in Acid...

Reason has some nice glitch kits that I export as well and line up in Acid..

So unless this is something totally different and i'm just being an idiot, I don't understand the cause of all the CPU overload..

I have Devine Machine..
I've never used it for glitches, and I can't imagine it would be that great..then again I don't use it that much in general, so I shouldn't talk..

CPU overload comesfrom trying to run all your VST channels and Audio channels thru a glitch FX VST like Arc.Dev.BlttR etc.           [[[G|L|I|T|C|H]]]
