I'm a female psy dj....I play downtempo, driving psychedelic progressive, and dark funky psy, my tastes vary about as much as my moods  with the exception that I don't like the fomulaic full on (gms,astrix,void,etc), any housey progressive, or anything too melodic and fluffy... my favorites right now...
downtempo-anything off ultimae records, ott, bluetech, androcell
progressive-suncontrolspecies, heliotrope, beat bizarre, freq, sensient, tetraktys, mostly anything off zma records
dark, funky psy- rastaliens, scorb, lemurians, damage, kindzadza, grapes of wrath, transdriver, blisargon demogorgon, rinkadink...
I also like loopis in fabula, haltya, viscious spiral, texas faggot...
I'm a collector and a dj tho, so I'm not sure this thread would really apply to me...I tend to think that taste in music does not follow any sort of pattern depending on ones sex...Tho I think there is definately more 'girly psy' out there (Void & Skazi's 'The Game' are the first that come to mind) and Neuromotor is one artist who's music is definately more masculine psy.

And yes I care about a good soundsystem a lot, somehow I feel cheated when the sound isn't good

Well I love progressive sounds... Haldolium, Hux Flux, Kox Box, Explorer, Son Kite, Genetic Spin, Atmos... I like groove sounds and envolving atmospheres!!

My girlfriend is still in the begining phase of the psytrance introduction  Her first psyparty was VooV 2004 and she got impressed. The transformation went better than I expected. She danced and had a lot of fun and enjoyed the hippie spirit very much. Since then she's willing to join me when I go to raves but unfortunately that has only been a couple of times this automn and winter. So, well to answer your question when it comes to my gf, she'll dance to everything as long as it got rhytm and the people around her are dancing and having fun. For her, all psytrance sounds the same hehe. But I'm working on it, soon I hope she'll be able to tell the differences between subgenres and that she'll get favourite artists. Right now, the only psy she might enjoy playing in her own house is ambient and downchilled tracks. Preferably with cute little melodies and so  |

I suppose it depends on how i am feeling.
I like to listen to hard stomping bass beats that get my arse moving & weird noises that get my mind thinking and some good samples never hurt anyone.I prefer outdoor parties any day and a good sound system is definetly a must.
I wouldn't choose to listen to progressive music although some of my friends (guys) enjoy it. The only time I enjoy slower music is in the morning/afternoon after a big night but it must have big fat funky beats in it. (makes for a sensual morning). ha ha.

WELL IT DEPENDNS ALWAYS INTELLIGENT MUSIC WHIT NICE AUDIO PRODUCTION, I LIKE A LOT THE MORNING TUNES, THE NIGHT TRANCE IS VERY DIFERRENT AT THE TARNCE THAT WE HEAR AT 3 YEARS AGO IT FULL OF NOISE, NO TRIP!!!
