Freeform Human is the combination of audio artist Freeform (from Hired Goonz) and visual artist Hueman, bringing together a fusion of largely analogue sensory stimulation in stark contrast to today’s digital fetish.
‘Arnika’ is a 60 minute continuous piece of flowing art that was composed from start to finish over the last year. You can listen to it as an hour long musical journey, or as a DJ jack in and jack out via 23 track markers wherever you please. It is best described as fresh analogue-laden psychedelic trance, but fuses together a concoction of genres and sounds from the past, present and future, creating a sense of timelessness. This album will also be split into separate epic tracks for DJ use, which will be available online in a lossless format for digital download.
The packaging for this release is hand-crafted from 100% post-consumer recycled cardboard designed and decorated by a creative team under the artistic instruction of Hueman. Each CD will be truly unique, hand signed and numbered, and only a limited run of 1000 copies will be created in this special way. The booklet will also fold out into a one of a kind Hueman painting for your wall, fridge or wherever else needs a bit of colour.
10% of all album proceeds will be donated to a cause close to the band's heart - the protection of Tasmania 's Old Growth Forests, via Still Wild Still Threatened.
The album will be available for exclusive pre-release sale at all gigs on the Gi’iwa / Freeform Human Album Launch national tour:
25 April - Hobart - Happy Noodle loves Gi'iwa
1 May - Melbourne - 3rd Ear Presents: "Yeewwww!!!"
2 May - Newcastle - Bent Perception
9 May - Brisbane - Toast & Jam
Melbourne's performance will include an extended 6-piece live band setup and Hueman's visuals on a projector screen array. Handcracfting The Freeform Human Album

Well, handcrafting the albums has been a blast! we have made them enirely from, scratch. Starting off with recycled cardboard, cutting out templates, scoring, then painting, glueing, folding and so on..
The funnest bit was definently the painting session, also known at Chromefest 2009. One sunny arfteroon we got out the spray cans in jasons backyard and went crazy with them. Really happy with the result, lots of different designs and i like them all.
Next up is placing the Cd and booklet in there then the bands logo sticker on the front.
Album is definently on track for 1st May release and will be distributed by Saikosounds or directly from http://www.freeformhuman.com if you want a lower hand signed number.

well, its either a kind of live set, or a 60 minute song, depending on how you look at it.
this 60 minutes has 24 track markers for easy navigation.
... hangon.. does it really say 90? that was a typo, its meant to be 60. ill fix now.. sorry for the confusion. |
