Hex bro .. Why shud the album have the intention of creating the same vibe ? its the variation in the musical journey that wud make it versatile. not all trax shud be same imo.. id agree with u if the album was designed to be heard in one flow- which is more or less like a ' live set ' . Now this question only the artist himself can answer 
anyhow, the album is strong, some new tricks goe has been doin. lotta d&b influence.. the atmospheres are still thick - which i love
first listen - last trac is my fav .

ugh i just dont like those 2 tracks..to be honest i dont like dubsteppy drum and bass styles ...i like everything else....I WANTED IT TO BE PERFECT GODDAMNIT lol 
But seriously though....this albums got some seriously infectious grooves....everytime im done listening to a track or 2 I got GOE grooves goin on in my head for the rest of the day hehe

Ok, my copy arrived in the post this morning...
all I can say is, it turns out there's an awful lot you can do with psy trance that still hasn't been done and this is the proof.
It's definately a good step forward from the sound of the future
fucking... well done. That's all.... just in a whole other league.

I liked it. I love experimenting with other beats different from psy kb lines, but the dnb part was a little too long for my taste.
Love the weirdness and industrialism thou!

yeah i also agree its a bit strange..even for ghreg who has always had a unique and very dynamic production style....this album has less bass and even the volume level is low when compared to other albums....doesnt sound bad though...its just diff...id be keen to hear what this sounds like on a big rig outdoors...

There's nothing wrong with a change in vibe or anything. Evolution is expected and is a must. However, whether the final outcome and the feeling it gives you is on par with Sigilweaver is a different story. An artist can't not expect to be compared to his/her magnum opus. By that measure, this album has fallen short. But i'll go with what jigar said about the last track; it really is special Good luck man Ghreg, you have my support as always. |
