try the book ! it's much more interesting than the movie, good but not as complex.
GiTS is a major piece in SF, and a brillant reflexion about 'soul'

i agree with u...it s a masterpiece.
try also" princess mononoke
"and "blood, the last vampire". both not as complex and the story isn t as good, but these are my top 3 mangas ;-)=
all of them are painted very well !!

Medirium, U can also have a look on Akira, the movie is good.
The book is amazing even if, in my opinion
its a little bit crazy at the end.
But it has a time paradox quite close to the one in Van Vogt's Weapon Shop of Isher !!!
anyway, in GiTs movie, there is a scene when Kasanagi walks across the city...
it's raining, the soundtrack is beautifull, like classical japanese song
...
a scene with so much poetry

yeah, the akira i know too, but i haven t read the books, there are tooooo many (...a friend has all, approx 20 books or so...)
about the gits book: is it a roman or a comic ?
about the raining scene: there exist @ min. 2 versions of gits, the one is exactly @ this part different....but yes...it s a very impressive part of the movie...

i know which one. a friend has read it and was a bit disappointed, but u ve to know that he is THE gits-freak...it s one of his fav movies over all...;-)=
