I was messing around in ableton at my friend's house yesterday and we tried to get Simpler to play back a kick drum... If we just dropped the kick drum sample into an audio track it sounded fine, but when we put it into Simpler it sounded like complete garbage (had no bass, sounded a lot quieter, had aliasing sounds...)
Does anyone know why this happens? |

well, when you first drop a sample into sampler or simpler, it sets the default volume level in db to -12, so unless you alter that parameter yes everything will sound quiet.
as for the sound itself being altered....are you triggering the sample at note c3?
as long as you re-set the volume and use c3, your sample should sound exactly the same as it does in audio....at least it does for me o.O

Yeah I guess its the note placement. Simpler plays the samples back at their original pitch if you place them on C3 |

I think it was a sound card issue because we tried that, and I just tried it again on my own machine and it works fine. |

for percussion, i think it's better to use Impulse instead of the simpler. |
