Hey guys,

After a long break from making music, almost two years, i finally got some inspiration & started working on some new music.

Here's a sample of a new tune that i've started, would love to get some feedback on it. Still a little rusty!

I think the sound is a bit too sharp and unpolished. The atmosphere is good, but could use a bit more mellow elements like reverbs/delays for my taste.

I like the groove by the way. Very laidback           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Well done , but even more ambience moving will make it even better.
But thats is a matter of taste...somtimes less is more.

Thanks for listening guys & your feedback! It's been a while & i'm in a new studio with a completely new setup so will take a little while to get used to mixing.

pr0fane, which elements are a bit too sharp & unpolished for you? Could you elaborate a little? Is it the mids that are off or the highs? Thanks!           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

Getafix, it's just the general "feel" of the track. A matter of taste I guess - sorry I can't be more specific           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

I HAVE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!!!
I'm going all sentimental here, oh man i'm checking this out INSTANTLY.

You were one of my main influences 2 years ago.

Edit: Great as always            http://soundcloud.com/li-fe

I said I like it dirty, not muddy.

Nice to see you again!

You're well capable of sorting out any mix issues yourself, and will probably be more aware of them then I am after a couple of listens.

For whatever it is worth though, I like the tune itself more after the 2 minute mark.

I too would like more ambience in the background. But ... obviously, you should write exactly as you feel right.

Seriously, great that you got some inspiration - in the same situation myself - can really get one down, when it isn't flowing.           .

@ Oni Katsu,

Hahah, that's good to know dude! Style has changed since then, don't really make full-on anymore, getting too old for it. So focusing on progressive for now.

@ Speaka,

Cheers mate! I know, i had a really long spell where i didn't even feel like turning on my equipment. Ended up selling all of my gear & just recently got the urge to set up a new studio. It's pretty basic compared to my last one but gets the job done!
