Yea, I agree, in the end it is better to just sequence everything out yourself, much more trial and error that way, but the results are more rewarding.Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V Ctrl+D is your best friend. But some of those plugins are handy if you can't handle the cpu power of having a huge FX chain in your send FX or chosen channel. I just like experimenting with them in programs like plogue or audiomulch just for audio samples. Speaking of Reaktor, has anyone checked out the ensemble called Travel Lisa? Insanity right there!

to record a bus in Logic you have to make another bus from the one you want to record off of, then record from that. yes, its wierd, and yes its a pain, but hey , this is Logic!
for example: instruments to bus 1.. set output of bus 1 to bus 2, set the outputs of bus 2 to the tracks you want to record to. then you will be able to record the effected bus
