Yes I also have a hate/love relationship with this vst.
The best way( that I could figure out ) to use it is to bounce your audio like 5 times everyone will be differnt but you cut out all the parts you like/want and maualy arange them into your loop.
Also like Elad said you can mix your original sound with the parts you cut out of the bounced audio.
I think that you might get better results for what you want out of the db Glitch VST :

tons easier to use and has more cool glich effects in it.

OK, OK, if you must use it, PLEASE don't use that red Tape Stop sound. The preset monkeys have made it so that sound is heard everywhere and kills the glamour of the rest of the plugin.
Try Effectrix by Sugar Bytes! Combined with Replicant by Audio Damage. You can get some cool glitching out of there.

The only reason I sugested it is the sound effect he was asking about making is kind of a pain to do with live-cut.That vst is just so random...
I do agree that db glitch is the #1 most over used vst out but man it has some cool capibilities.
( red tape stop not included ) lol that sound is so 90's
If you use all presets please take time to learn how to use your toys!

why the hell cant people figure out what livecut´s doin? i mean it´s not that difficult and written next to each slider.....
u wont believe how many people use this glitching shit(dblue, replicant, livecut, effektrix,wahtever in hope to get the next kindzadza one day), and please believe me, one can easily hear that, however u chop and rearrange it....
do it yourself man, at the end its not this fuckin amazing. want rapid stutter? do it yourself brother.... i mean think yourself about, what is stutter??? its the easiest thing livecut offers. want some pitch in it, go and pitch it......
piuh im so bored of these glitch people and have to say it was the same to me. this wow effect, but this was quite some while ago....some years!!!
now it seems like everyone´s (and sure some more newbs too) using dblue or whatever possible to use for mac. but guys cmon, its fun to listen one time, but where´s the musician in u or the technician if u dont ask yourself how this fuckin software is doin this???
and dont wanna talk about musician here, glitch has nearly nothin to do with music at the end, its some nice technical show off if u do yourself, but with more sense of an effect than a musical part of your story around. otherwise in case u dont do yourself its some bored expression of what plugins you´re using...
and damn its not that difficult to do, just few clicks more for sure. but hey, music´s not made for lazy people....

I don't wanna be the next Kindzaza, i hate copying artist's style,really, i have mine,and stutters are part of it, fo sure i'm not lazy on it, it's1 month hard work for that tune
i have done the big part of this stuff manually chopping,reverse ecc.. but i like the way livecut sounds,and can't figure why is so irregular even synced to logic.
livecut is only a tool to get what i want, i have it on my mind and i'm donig it, if it's possible i would like 2 use a girl's pussy to get stutter

ok bro,
dont mind my opinion on that pls, for everything else all said by others here.
there´s pretty no way to get livecut doin some stuff not that randomly.
but i tried, and have to say its possible to get some closer. you just have to know the timing stuff and calculate, adjust it to your song. it´s just so randomly workin cause its calculating in these small parts. know what i mean?
if you´re workin on a track just figure out the timing stuff or let it calculate by any site for 4th,8th, 16th whatever u like and take these times for adjusting livecut. anyway, i was not able to adjust it EXACTLY, so pretty close, but not that what i was lookin for.... quite some while ago, but i remember good.
i didnt say u wanna be next kindzadza, but many want to be and go this way i mentioned. if u feel appealed by my post i dont mind, but was not you i meant 
btw, stutter out of my girls pussy recorded would be so great, but its pretty silent BUT if u know the exactly frequency, theres a chance u can synthesize it by your own

maybe effectrix´s something for u, at least it´s workin on a mac.... but i dont like the fx, they´re not enough stunning power for my taste. but it´s the most versatile glitching tool for a mac imo, at least the only one i know with these capabilitys.

So I guess you've probably already tried Supatrigga? I've been making some pretty radically dynamic effect racks in ableton complete with juicy one knob glitchfest macros with those smartelectronix plugins+beatrepeat. Also if you're on a mac, theirs tons better than dbglitch, id go ahead and shell out the money for gleetchlab. Its not that much, and it seems you have far more control over it. But yea, Axis, replicant is supersick as well. Ill have to throw that one in a rack one of these days.

You can run two identical channels of audio parallel to each other... one with live cut, one without. There you can pick and choose where you want the plugin to "do its work" and where stays as is.
Really for me the best results are manual editing + effects, though! Certainly nothing wrong with doing both Especially if you keep repeating the process until it's thoroughly mangled.

to the thingy above, i got gleetchlab here, both versions, but dont like them cause only workin standalone and just another plugin doin crazy stuff you can do pretty more versatile yourself with much more power fx plugins
i tried many things until i found the best thing is just DIY if u need glitch.... abletons "slice to midi" option is just heaps better than most of the other shitty plugins. anyway as i mentioned, always DIY is some few clicks more, i dont mind.
CAUSE with stunning better results. i mean think about yourself how powerful these plugins can be in there fx section (and these pricings), while doin all this other crazy stuff, which is still limited anyway. imagine what u can achieve by your own and think about what these plugins cant do. think about more crazy stuff and get off the wow effect by these easy built plugins. i mean gleetchlab is something one can easily do his/herself with reaktor i.e. its kinda like that made
anyway, its up to u folks how ur workin and what you´re using. everything above is just my opinion
