I was thinking, and of course for me sometimes it means realizing, and I came across with a thought, that all GOA, Psytrance, and current uptempo electronica.
Wondering how many generations we are at?
And I realized of course that, the style of music it's facing the second maybe some signs of third generation, it's something that is out there and it belongs to this era, like Rock music, based on guitars, vocals, drumss, bass and etc. That is facing lots of generations, and of course, the bigger audience, dad pass it to the son or daughter, kids get all the sudden iluminated by music and start creating themselves, or just beeing fan of the music.
Psytrance, Goa Tekno and such, will the generations bring a mainstream of such genre?, or it will maintain an era that it started and got frozen in time.
Well, just a thought.

All I know is that very few people I see at parties these days are familiar with or have even heard of the pre -97 goa scene, most of them came in at least around 2000
Why even call it the same thing? The feelings and thoughts behind it are so different now |

Yes, main reason is the intruduction to computers that can handle at low budgets lots of virtual studios, something back in 1996-1997 was all hardware, no virtual instruments and such.
Fun to know and feel the beginning of a genre of music based on this current technology.

I think that the future will contain both of those directions,and many more.Psy will become less psychedelic and have more vocals,guitar riffs,less complicated cheesy and catchy leads , psy mixed radio songs etc in one direction.
Then there will also be the more underground directions,more unique and psychedelic music,probably using new ways of sounds ,experimenting and exploring,more depth and more complicated sound engineering,just like today.
Probably there will also be all kinds of middleways and other directions. Such as progressive trance and house ,trance ,psy trance being more melted and connected and probably like a new wave of minimal techno,progressive,psy elements and house will emerge and become quite wide and big.
This is what i believe.
Of course this is in relevance of the time perspective,in 20 000 years ,it will probably be very different with things,but this is what i think about the more closer future.

Interesting, so the direction will be with live instruments involved, probably, since the passion of guitarists. drums and such will always like to combine somehow both of the accoustic/electric instruments live to the hard electronica, or of course soft. but my main interest is the dance Psychedelic music, so we are living the beginning of it, at least the people that are around the ages of 55-19, a couple of generations, will see what kind of music will be inspired by new computers and devices, so, we will be facing a massive electronica underground that becomes mainstream, very Cyber, all made at home and some in big budget studios.
The Goa-House- Psytrance and such that uses kick/bass drum, will be there forever I belive then.
