I don't want to fill slots, I want the chill area to be it's own entity. I want talent from that area to be it's own draw. Not that psy producers and dj's are'nt great, I just want that area to be seperate from the main stage. I already have some psytrance people booked for chill and want the rest to be ambient oriented. I want to see a chill area that has it's own vibe. |

nice all-star lineup there...i'm wondering, how do 1 hr sets effect the musical flow? is this intended to be like just 1 long communal set? |

1 hour sets arent that uncommon out west. Naturally i prefer a 2 hour set, but 1 isnt that unusual.
For flow that is simply masterd by putting together a constructive lineup where as each dj should flow into one another well enough, and i see this lineup being the best idea of how those who are booked would link together. Wichdokta has done his homework on this and no doubt put several hourse of time in fitting this together

I'm certain that the flow the entire weekend is gonna work out quite well... Bodhi, Tom, and Myself will be putting together something quite different and special for this set I think and to be honest having only 1 hour to do it is really going to help us do something that we haven't really done before. Flow isn't just limited to the dj, flow should be throughout the night and whole event. The Gemini events have always been superspecial to me, hell it was the first outdoor party I ever went to some 7 years ago, and I am honored to be part of it.

The 1 hr. sets are a showcase of who you are and what your vibe is. The musical flow is done by lineup as Paradigm has explained. Out here in the west, we have so many dj's and producers, you want to give them all a chance. And 1 party out here won't do it. Not even with 1 hr. slots. Plus, I'm keeping up the idea of "CrossPollination". I want to see lots of dj's and producers who have never been or got the chance to play at a California Outdoor get a chance. And with the scene growing so much, I feel the need to bring as many as possible each year just to keep up. I still have'nt had anybody from NY over except Lauryn who just moved there. Also the BC folks from Vancouver and the Mexican Family. Not to mention the rest of the dj's and producers I have'nt brought out from the collectives I've already worked with. You can say I'm on a mission to connect my psy family from all over the Northern Hemisphere with one another. Bring together the collective minds that will one day make and shape our future as a psy-family. I want to be the kind of support I never had when I started dj'ing! I want to see us networking with each other like we are for the A.U.M. Festival. Each collective has there strenghths, together we are unstoppable. Gemini is a special gathering in that it is what it is! |

thanks wichdokta for the explanation, i have a feeling you'll be paying us a visit out East before the summer is over, if not sooner....but, one curiosity that went unanswered (which stems from a previous isratrance controversy), was whether all sets are blended together or whether they are kept seperate with stops/starts between, or is there no understood policy, just whatever feels right? |

There is no preference. I for one almost always have an intro planned, sort of like a long break. Not to change the vibe but to redirect it, like turning a corner. |
