Graphics card is important but w/o it you can produce music .

First of all remove any previous graphic drivers from your system , visit Intel web page and download newest driver for you onboard chipset then install it.Restart Pc and visit Microsoft live update , check if you need to install any critical signed by Microsoft drivers . Install all you find on Windows Update page(not security but driver signed updates).Restart.

Update same way your sound card driver . M-Audio control Panel , Hardware Tab , check Use Windows Default for MME(near DMA buffer).

I assume you use Windows XP if not do not read it.

1.Right Click on my computer , Properties , Advanced Tab , Performance , at Visual Effects Tab check Adjust for best performance , at Advanced Tab check Programs for both , click Change , Set your Maximum Size as Initial Size , click Set and Ok , Ok ,Ok

Restart

2.When you load any sequencer press ALT + CTRL + DEL , Processes Tab , find in there application you need and Right Click on it , Set Priority to Real Time .

It should make all system resources used by application you set.

cheers
