i bought two er-1's, ea-1, jp-8080, microkorg, sp-606, behringer tube magician and terratec phase 88 - all used

for next year I except to get the cheapest genelecs, a mixer and some cheap behringer stomp boxes for mangling the electribes... (yeah, i just started getting all this hw - so no even mixer yet)

But my most beloved piece of hardware is of course the Casio Rapman RAP-1!!1

I don't tend to buy much hardware, and software comes with work but it's not been a bad year; I upgraded my computer to XP3200+ and got some fast Giel RAM. My favourite new toy though is a Nord Modular that I got in return for giving some production tuition - the previous owner had it chromed, and I took it out on stage for the first time last weekend...

Next year I want to get a voice expansion card for it. Also a decent TFT monitor to replace my ageing 19" CRT - the Dell 24" LCDs are looking very tasty but they're quite expensive. At some point I want to ditch my mixer and get a proper monitor controller instead, as that's all I've used it for for the last few years now.

Its nice to know playing analog instruments,a sux its an old school instrument with a classic american sound
so i guess it goes with your horn-y feeling about it

i d love to had a Harp since i was playing for 5 years as my sec instrument after piano, but its too fuck* expensive to get one, over 10000e so i had to quit, due to many hours of studying.
Maybe now i can find a rack mounted harp

John Coltrane is my musical god of all time! Realy into Getz as well and love Desmond's hypnotic alto. First time I heard Miles Davis' "Kind Of Blue" I was swept away. I have never heard anything that even comes close. The sax solos in Flamenco Sketches, Blue In Green, are some of John's best work ever imo. Same goes for Julian's alto solos on that LP.
Loved Giant Steps, A Love Supreme, his work on Blue Train...they are all magnificent pieces of work, although I am partial on the "Ascension" era...
For me he never spilt his guts out like he did on "Kind Of Blue".
That LP was truly "made in heaven".
I also play a bit of guitar. Got my sights on a PRS Santana SE edition, but for a bit more one can get a Gibson SG faded...decisions decisions...

This year I've only invested in a MAM MB33.

For 2006 I hope to be able to buy a pair of monitors, I've grown quite tired of doing all the mixing in my DT250's....            Aural transmissions from the deep forests of Sweden

That looks cool!

This year I have only bought 600G of harddisks and upgraded to Sonar 5. On the other hand, I had to sell my K2600.

My best buy of the year was my Eventide H3000-D/SX Ultra-Harmonizer. The shop selling it thought a button was broken so I got it from the junk bid for less than $300 US, but it works perfectly!

Other good buys of the year...

Mackie SR24.4
