I"ll be in NYC for 3 weeks in november & buying the Pioneer/Traktor digital setup is a lot cheaper it looks in the USA than currently in Australia.

I"m keen to know though what online or actually shops are worth checking out? Most I"ve seen online don't currently ship outside of the USA, and if we rent and apartment I should be able to get it shipped there during my stay, then I"ll pay for it to be couriered back to Australia.

Cheers           I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

Guitar Center is a safe bet as you can go in and play with the gear before you buy it but may not be the cheapest....

I think Guitar Center sales guys make some commision so they can wheel and deal... If you are buying multiple things they can cut deals that are a little better than the online price...

Check out your gear, then order online (audiomidi.com) and get it shipped to where you are staying. Call Audiomidi when you order (number is on website) , if you order more they WILL give discount... tried and proven true ! And they are already cheaper than all the stores!

Good luck           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

Check out Nova musik, and if you will be in NY check Turntable lab (i have ordered from them).           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

Id say best bet would be local shops like Login mentioned, the prices may not be much different but the salespeople usually are much more helpful and knowledgeable, at least here in Reno at Planet DJ they are. Guitar Center would haev let me buy the Pioneer headphones I picked out, but Planet DJs staff showed me hte Ultrasone DJ-1's, which was SUCH a better choice. I cant imagine NYC would be much different.

Its a pain that overseas shops dont ship intercontinentally but really, do you want to trust your kit to stay safe, passing thru as many hands as it would take to ship to your country? I wouldnt           .
