Hi all,

I want to shamelessly plug my album that just came out on Ektoplazm. I would describe it as dark and moody Lo-Fi downtempo, definitely on the weird side of things, but also quite accessible, if that makes any sense.

Naturally I think its fucking awesome, but decide for yourself, hahaha

Im looking forward to all comments, even if you think its not fucking awesome

Absolutely stunning work aje! Am just halfway through the album, still absorbing, can already say you've achieved something groundbreaking while still being really pleasing to the ears and mind, almost like they were ready to hear this before it was even made.

It's also fucking awesome! Thankyou for putting it up on Ekto!

Thanks Yidam!

I saw your post on Facebook as well, and I must say "You got it!". The way you described the album there is exactly what I had in mind when I wrote it and made the track order

Anyways, thanks for your kind words here and there, I really appreciate it           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch

To be honest:

Dear Gay Satanic Hippie. I hope Satans Fluffer accepted that you take this name as a brand.

Anyways, of course I also listend to your music. I was pretty much surprised. Beacaus it sounded, well, very "introspective" and chilled and I really feel that this is good art. But I can`t follow some of the Statements, who Claim, that this is an extraordinary great Album, an exception from the rule, and so on. I think that this is not true and that the People who say this are ignoring the vastness and variety of relases in the chilled out genre. This is deffenitly not an outstanding album. It is very creative and very fine art and I enjoy it too. And I am very thankful to you for putting it only for free. I have great respect for that and I will enkoy this Album many times in the future.

Deep, funny, full of feel, and interesting. Constantly interesting. Recommended.           ---------------------------------------------

Yeah. I agree. The only thing, which I want to criticise, is, that I recognise a number of samples, which I have heard in lots of other tracks too. But, well, sometimes that`s also really interesting, to see, how different people work with those samples. So, it´s no real critic.

@shahar: Thanks a lot!

@Gunther: First of all, yes, Satans Fluffer fully approves of my usage of the GSH name! And besides, I invented it!

Then thanks for your nice words! And you right, as everything in music theres nothing on here that hasnt been done before. Actually, when I first started to write music in this style, I tried to blatantly copy Burials remix of Massive Attack "Paradise Circus". As I tried to do that, I always got "sidetracked" with my own ideas and took the track in a different direction, and the result is what you hear here. So in a way, the foundation of this entire album is forgery, hahaha

The only thing I find surprising is your comment about samples, as I hardly ever use sample CDs (except the voices on track 4 and 12) and use my own field recordings. But you are right, Im certainly not the first person in the world to use samples or crackling grammophones or rain or whatnot           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch

Hm, right now I remember the woman voice (Ein Tag in den Wolken)... which is very marcant and I remember it from other context. But maybe I am wrong (?). And other sounds just sounded very familiar to me. I can`t tell why. Maybe it`s also the sound structure. I can`t tell. It`s more a feeling. Beside all that, I don`t want to say anything negative about the album, since I am constantly listening to it and am really loving it. Maybe, by impulse, my mind just reacted to some of the over-positive statements. Sorry for that.

Your sound sometimes remembers on Burial, sometimes on Marconi Union / Krillminima, sometimes on Deep Techno stuff, sometimes on Field Rotation, sometimes even on Seamoon, sometimes on those fantasy songs which I can`t name now. And all of those, I love.

It is strange to me. I listen to the album. And it sounds familiar in many parts. It´s positively strange.

I found this really strange too, but not necessarily in way that made me feel that I couldn't listen on, like with stuff that's blatantly plagiarised, it's actually what pushed me to listen to the whole thing. Familiar but unfamiliar at the same time.

Burial + Massive Attack Makes sense now. Definitely on that stream of post-sound, the underwater clock ticking.

Gunther, the voice from Ein Tag in den Wolken is sampled from a very famous american R&B singer (I wont tell you which one as to not alert the sample police, hehe . However, it is totally chopped up and manipulated, you wont find her singing these exact same words in that order anywhere. But thanks again for your nice comments!

As to the strange familiarity, I guess that has to do with the way I produce. Almost every track I produce I start with the goal to recreate something that inspired me in order to learn how to get to "that" sound. But then I quickly get bored and take the track in a compeletely new direction. So thats why there are probably always familiar elements, or a familiar foundation, with something new on top           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch
