Wow! Dunno how to put this one. "Where is Bollywood music heading" OR "Where is psychill/dub music heading?"

Just found out that this gem of a track has been used on a mainstream Hindi cinema soundtrack called "Rog". Wonder what prompted the move, but I really am at a loss for words to decsribe how I am actually feeling at the moment to find this out.

Check this link:

Would love to hear comments on this one, especially from fellow desi psyheads.

And is that what we're really looking for? Wasnt what happened with the Punditz, enough of a mockery? Case in Point : They came up with music for Lets Enjoy - how did it fare in the market? It was given an average score rating by most critics. All of us who've listened to the Punditz will agree that they are anything but average. But while going mainstream I'm sure they must've made a lot of compromises just so the common man could relate to the music and see what a mess they landed themselves in.

Do we want to see Kaya Project in a similar soup?

IMHO Bollywood soundtracks would be better off if left to the Jatin - Lalits and the Anu Maliks.

Just my 2 cents, give it a thought.           Don't Worry, Stay Trippy!

you do have a good point psytripper...

I dont know how it went with punditz (their music is great), but you also cant know how it would be with someone else..

I mean, there are some movie soundtracks which are great, and not necessarily it will be bad if some chill artist does soundtracks...
maybe it will, but maybe it wont

but I do agree with you that if its to happen the same as you claim happened with punditz, then I rather not

*Bump*

In hindsight.... Who cares if chillout artists doing mainstream movie soundtracks land up in soup? most likely it wont be well received and the pundits will shun it but thats only because they made compromises to cater to a larger segment .

If they do an original score and then it doesn't do well , it will prove that such music is not for the masses and has a niche market IMO.

BTW i love this track and had me in a rapture today
