Surrender! im pretty sure Colin is correct, this is probably made with the Delay Lama! but as you know, similar sounds can be made with other synthesizers aswell.. but it takes some programming insight.

Sorry dude, I think that's hardware. I don't remember the name, I think it's the same one used on a lot of old Alien Project tracks and track #2 or 3 on the Kumharas CD. One of my housemates knew the name of it off the top of his head, I'll ask later...

There are a variety of soft synths that have some "vocal" style formant filter, but nothing quite that quality. The MHC plugin pack has a vocal synth that's ok.

Some of the similar tone could be filtered with good vocoder before being gated. Unfortunately there are not many good vocoder vst in my knowledge that could come close to the hardwares such VOCODER SVC-350 or SPV-355 (or join[t] together) in therm of vocal fat job. I am still loking for something close and I am eager to use one.

Wasn't this produced by a Nord Modular formant filter through a gate? It's definitely a formant filter.

You can approximate it with DiscoDSP Discovery through a Cubase MIDI Gate.

ever try FLslicer???

you can slice samples and then run through a formant filter for best effect           roll a joint or STFU :)

Here are so much tips already posted from delay lama to fruity slicer and several hardware solutions. This must be a interesting sound, i don't know it.            Signature

I dont know if you use Reason at all (I rewire it into Cubase) but if you do, try this:
Load a NNXT or NN-19 with a normal vocal file. Hook up Matrix to the sampler by connecting the GATE CV to the sampler's AMP ENV. Now, draw in many types of diff gate patterns in your matrix. Try even using making patterns that play at diff speeds using the Matrix's pattern speed knob (forgot exact name). Now simply draw out one long bar for the Wav file and access your different patterns in the Matrix. Amazing stutter and chopped up vocal effect for the sample. Then use an LFO and Mod to mess up the sound even more. Hope this helped somebody.

I'm not exactly sure what kind of sound you're talking about, but theres a DirectX plugin called "Chopper", almost like the Trancegate on Vanguard. That also gives a very cool effect on vocals, breaks it up nicely.

But I dont know if it comes standard with Cubase, or if maybe I installed it afterwards.
