Hi Guys,
I was doing some experiments with typicial psytrance lazer leads and I asked myself if there is any effect tool outside which could speed up the process. I made some example here:
to write this lead in midi I need about 20-30 Minutes, thats quite a long time!
Do you have any tips for me to make it faster I thought about a gating effect or something which I put over a long decay lead sound with some cutoff modulation to make it more interesting!
Thanks a lot for reading!
Greetings

play around with gates and arp effects, you can usually tweak a arp generator plugin to go to 1/16ths to 1/32nds etc... and adjust it so it doesn't play up or down ocataves it just plays straight... then adjust the gate of the arp to make your notes more harsh or soft etc... thats what i would do- otherwise you seem to have a great sound down anyways- maybe just more practice with it http://soundcloud.com/brentmalik

if you use logic then use ultrabeat as a gate (if you're not sure how to do it there are multiple tutorials on youtube). with this method gating is as easy as drawing in a few midi notes (and you can also control the parameters in ub like filter cutoff with velocity).

if you use ableton you can use the auto pan.
set the phase to to 0° adjust offset to where you want it, 100% amount, shape 0-45%. then automate the rate. jumping from 16th to 8th to 32th and so on works well on fm-leads...
