Hello!
On a Polish psy-scene forum I've started a thread with an idea of organising simultaneous parties across Poland. The date would be 21st December 2012 when the Earth along with the whole Solar System will cross a Galactic Equator. I've pointed to the fact that this astronomical event is also important in esoteric circles because of astrological connotations. I've always perceived psytrance as a music that blends spirituality with materiality, mind with body, science with esoterica, organic with technological, etc.
After unfavourable posts about my interests in astrology and similar areas, along with widely skipped issue of organising a party along the ideas of Full Moon Parties, just on larger scale, I was wandering what guys over an isratrance think about this issue.
Is it good or bad when organisers try to host parties on astrological important events like full moon or solstice? Is such reference to shamanistic traditions something wrongful? I wonder if spirituality, OM symbols, gods or religion are even important to you? Does it enhance your party experience or maybe you hate it very very very much. |

Ofcourse its good, I dont care about old religions but the group and the tribe is whats important for me..What we create is thousands of years old rituals..
Syncronized events is cool, bet there will be alot of parties this date

Well it's relative how relevant the symbolism, spirituality, religion and things are to the party scene but if one things for the sure the alignment of the stars affects things on this planet to quite a significant degree. Ask anyone who sails the seas. If not for anything else but the natural light of a full moon night.

I think that organizing parties according to such things is absolutely fine. I'm not much of a believer in many new-age ideas (or ancient ones for that matter), but it doesn't diminish the experience for me. If it is meaningful for others, those organizing or attending, then go for it! Whatever floats your boat is my view.
And given the long pseudo-religious history of trance and those that helped it grow, I think it makes sense, even if it's only to add that extra little spark of mystery. So go crazy
