Sure it's for your hearing....... I thought You couldn't mix with the MP2016 Rane ($2000) pre-amplified with the external XP 2016 EQ... But I Forgot that $20 Numark Mixer can provide you with that split Cue in your headphones.

My dear Friend, I'm here to put nobody down, IF your a DJ and you can't take an opinion your in the wrong business, I'm here to give you an aspect of the parties in NYC that you people don't see, I SEE DJ's @ Alladin's Party playing with a MIXED CD (BY ANOTHER DJ) a stand behind the booth making believe he's the one mixing. I Work very hard as a DJ/Producer myself to have to put up with this shit. So I decided to really post my thoughts on the things I see.

That mixer takes a bit of getting used to. Rane 2016 has high-quality sound, but it ain't the most user-friendly. Not having a split Headphone cue-master combined with ever-distorting monitor next to your ear (you usually have to overdrive it 'cause the house system is so loud) can be difficult for people who are used to headphone mixing. Honestly, it took me a few tracks to get the hang of it, and I've played on similar setups before.
edit- i meant you can't even hear cue and master at the same time the way you can on Pioneer 500, not even talking about a cue-master pan. so you have to rely exclusively on that distorted monitor. ..it's just another party.. |

Agree, Most trance DJ’s are not use to "the House" Rotary Mixer, But it comes to a point where a DJ (Like Yourself) Should be able to adjust, it took you a few tracks to get a hang of it, these Philly guys still can’t get a hang of it.... but the true reason I say this is because running that crappy Numark through the AUX channel should not happen.

If hooking up an external mixer makes them more comfortable, why not do it? I don't see what the problem is here. Are you saying the Numark mixer reduces the sound quality?
