My powerbook gets very hot and I need a good cooler thats will suck the air from the back of my laptop . unlike pc laptops the air comes out of the back and not the bottom so most pc coolers do not seem to bewhat im looking for.Any ideas please? |

As ur power book gets older, it will start to heat up more and more... i have the old one were the blowers are out the sides so been stumped myself....
My advice, place ur laptop on something that is a bad conductor of heat. eg Glass, rubber, wood, cork, paper, this makes a big difference i feel and if ur in an airconditioned room, all the better..

i ve been putting the laptop on 2 pieces of wood. this means that air can circulate underneath it. it still heats but not as much! whether this will extend my g4s life i have no idea....

consider also that the blower can be dirty or obstructed by dust, so if you can, clean it up.

or just take out the phase change cooling system from your freezer and point it to the aluminium case... beware of condensation.

you can buy placemats for laptops... i have one, it has 2 silent fans, and is made of metal to conduct the heat away from the laptop. ust put your laptop on to of it and it will be a lot cooler... Also, most of those placemats are wedged, so it's more ergonomic to use the laptop... And it lengthens the lifespan of the fan of your laptop because it doesn't have to spin as often.
