So I bought their drum kit pack, which was actually very reasonably priced. Suprisingly its a very good kit, some very useful stuff! Normally I wouldn't subscribe, let alone purchase a pack that claims to be genre specific, but this just plain kicks ass! Anyone know of any other "psy" kits out there that are similar to this? I see they have a bassline plugin too. Is that worth having? Looks kind of gimmicky, how much parameter control do you have on this?

U dont have much to be honest with you, for basslines (but not just for basslines) your money would be much better spent on sylenth1, fantastic synth for pretty much everything, but especially for basses.

I found alien 303 difficult in terms of getting a good transient out of the bass, which is important to me, I don't like it when it all becomes muddled and only discerned by the kick. Difficult but not impossible, My Yawning ep had Alien 303 entirely for bass line...
The one that beats them all is Trilian !!!
Even though it's a ram hog !

I got this sample pack today as well, very nice.
Other libraries which are pretty good as well are:
DMS Nuborn Psytrance Samples.Vol.1,Vol.2 and Vol.3
Zenhiser Ultimate Psytrance Drum Kit 01 (they have some other good libraries as well)
And Psy-load has a bunch of sample packs which might be what you're looking for.

I actually bought the XXL bundle a while back, when I was on Windows. Loved it, it was great for Leads and Basses. Unfortunately I'm selling it now, because I have moved to Mac. If anyone wants to buy it from me (offers), you can get it cheaper. PM is great.
The Alien303 and XBass combination was great, really sounded well together. |

I love the Alien 303 mate though many find it too simplistic. I don't.
I would recommend the Renegade vst though. Brilliant.

Even the god damn interface is quite a trip out when one is in the mood of the noisy stuff.
